The steering column of my 97 Buick Le Sabre (Custom) was changed at a GM garage after the ignition was damaged during an attempted car theft. Since then (about two weeks now) I've noticed that the horn does not sound as loud as before when I press the lock button on the remote pad. However, when I press the horn on the steering wheel, the sound level is louder and clearer. The GM garage is saying there is no way the change of the steering column could have caused this. Someone has suggested that its possible that the re-programming of the remote could have caused only one of the horns to sound instead of the two horns when the remote button is pressed? Can anyone please offer some explanations for the reduction in the sound from the horn when the lock button on the remote is pressed?
