After all is said and done, and all these calculations made and 10% more HP, 10% less torque, 80kg more wieght etc..., etc... I still can't believe people think a CSX is luxurious because it adds leather and a navigations system. Hahahahahahahahah…. 

IT’S JUST A CIVIC (with leather seats and navigations system). 

Maybe these people are the same people who think that adding a wing, different rims, Pirelli Pzero tires, an exhaust, Recaro seats, a momo steering wheel, makes their Civic a Ferrari.  Come on guys grow up!

Sure... it's just a Civic just like the ES330 is just a Camry, the A3 is just a Golf, the MDX is just a Pilot, the RX330 is just a Highlander and the S40 is just a Mazda3. Pretty much everything is based on something else... but the package (interior, features, sound insulation, etc.) are what defines if a vehicle is luxury or not.

CSX isn't grand luxury, but it's certainly more luxurious than a Civic by simple definition... it has more luxurious features.

Wow, people on this board are so sensitive, I didn’t realize most of you had stock in Honda or created the CSX.  Okay fine, if any of you reading this thread, designed and created the CSX I apologize for my remarks.  Now back to the discussion…

No offense, but why don't you "grow up"? How is offering actually practical extra equipment for a charge the same as paying for useless things that DETRACT from the value of the car? Leather seats and HIDs aren't ricer wings and louder exhaust pipes. That's complete nonsense.

It’s not the fact that they are offering extra equipment that’s the issue.  It’s the fact that people who think a CSX is all of sudden a luxurious car because it adds leather and navigation is the issue.  Let’s sit and analyze who and why most people would buy this car: 

1. If you are looking for a simple people mover, you’ll get the Civic.
2. If you are looking for a “sportier” car, you’ll get the Civic Si (notice I said “sportier”, not sport car or exotic or super car)

So…………..

Who does this leave us with?  People who buy this car to show-off, because they think it’s luxurious some how.  And to people who think that, I say "you are stupid and/or idiot".  BECAUSE IT’S A CIVIC!

Actually I do hate this car (CSX), same goes for the Cayman, the R350, etc….  Car companies need to realize that they can’t just throw at us to fill a gap just for the sake of it.  I hope the CSX, the Cayman the R350 and any other “fill-gap” car, TANK!

As we’ve seen the car buying market is starting to realize this and “growing-up” a bit.  Because as recent posts have suggested the Cayman and R350 aren’t doing so well.


God, how many more different ways can I explain this point?!

Calm down people. Just go try a Mazda 3 for far less money and forget about these Acura poser cars.

Nobody really answered the question ... except the interior and the engine, is there anything different than the Civic? 

Heated leather seats (a luxury must I guess)
Climate control (I don't get it ... but I guess some people want it)
A sport tuned rear sway bar (that's it? ... a 200$ part)
HIDs (cool I guess)
Paddle shifter (a.k.a. automatic transmission)
6 CD changer (gimme a AUX jack!)

Its vey obvious some people are against  badge engineered cars, especially in  the Civic/CSX case. As very little technical engineering difference is apparent, and basic difference is between these 2 cars (Civic EX sedan and CSX)  is more features but at a higher price.

That said ,it is only available in Canada which tells me Honda realizes the Canadian market (in general) does not have a problem with this sceniaro.nuff said

The only feature this car has going for it is the "paddle shifter".

I'm not sure on that one. The previous EL had both a firmer suspension plus rear sway bars. My guess is this one has both also, but it would take an Acura guy to confirm it.

As well, my post has pretty much all of the CSX differences noted, including the subjective ones...i.e. the different head/tail-lights which some people like better. It's on page 1 or 2 of this thread.

From what was said here and what I've read ... there's nothing different to the Civic (exterior + handling) except a 200$ sway bar that can be very easily installed anywhere.  If anybody knows more ... let us know.

You mentionned a "sportier suspension" but never cited a source.  Different styling in lights doesn't make the car more Acura. (HIDs are a nice touch though)

How is it a useless application when I'm sure upwards of 75% of EL's sold were automatics, just like upwards of 75% of CSX sold WILL be automatics?

Hold on, you make it sound like paddle shifters - or "tiptronic/manumatic" - are a bad feature and Acura needs to be taken to task for it.

May I remind you that they are NOT the first manufacturer to do so, therefore your complaint is out of place. Tiptronic/Manumatic/"paddle shifters" have been used by countless other manufacturers over the years so making a complaint regarding that particular feature is out-of-place in a review on the CSX.

If you don't like manumatic, then you should just say "I don't like/want/need manumatic -- so the Civic is fine for me" rather than giving your OPINION on why it isn't good -- because that same opinion can apply to the cars built by all the other luxury marques - Lexus, Infiniti, Beemer, Benz, etc.

Honda even designed the paddle shifters in CSX/RL to have the engine up/downshift matching "feel" like sequential shifter does. Although its far from what I have experienced in DSG, its something that's fun to have in a manumatic.

I just said that I’m not fond of an automatic transmission matched with a flappy paddle system.  But according to you guys, I've said ...

- Automatic trannies are useless
- Flappy paddles are useless
- Acura invented the paddles and are evil for it!

I admit I made one error ... I thought the CSX had a special gate with a + and a - (like VW, Kia, etc.) rather than a S setting.  That's one of the reason I found the paddles "useless" ... why not just use the shifter.  Now they've just put that system on the wheel with paddles.  You have to wonder how well that thing is gonna work in tight spaces .... S to R(everse) to S to paddle/paddle to R ... bla bla bla.  Also, once the novelty wears off ... won't people just shove it in Drive and just go?  Anyway, it's not a bad idea ... I'm just waiting (or looking) for a better "setup".

Exactly ... at least you got that one right.  I don't know all the systems (I'm learning) but if you're saying their all identical to Acura's.
