You may discuss our cover story of the day in this thread....
First Drive:
2007 Jaguar XK coupe and convertible

2007 Jaguar XK coupeAuto writers from around the globe, including our own Tony Whitney, descended on South Africa to drive the new 2007 Jaguar XK coupe and convertible sports cars. In this special report, Tony says that the XK's performance, comfort and luggage capability make it "much closer to being a real Grand Tourer than some of its competitors."      More...

That thing is almost gorgeous.  From the rear, it's darn sexy.  Aston Martin like.  The side profile, sleek.  From the front....I can't help but see a bit of Ford in the headlights.  Everything else is nice.  Compared to the competition, only the SL and 6 series come close to looks.....but I think the Jag wins out.

Very much improved over the aging XK. Looks really good. But I agree. Something about the front makes it seem off. One of the better looking Jags out right now.

That interior looks MUCH nicer in beige than black!

And the outside has actually left me feeling a little turned on. Will this be at the Toronto Auto Show? I'd like to...err... get to know it a little better  :inlove:

From all angles but the front, it's a great looking car.

But like others have said, the front headlights looks almost too generic - they look Cavalier-ish to me.  I much prefered the last generation headlights.

But it's good to hear one car company is resisting the urge to build heavier and heavier cars.....

It's the script Grant uses, it is very basic, it checks the URL header if the refering site doesn't = canadiandriver.com it says that.  Just remove the script junk and it works.

The XK is a truly exceptional car on many levels. I think it will compete very well against the
Mercedes SL and that gawd awful ugly 6 series BMW (kinda a 21st century version of a early 90's Camaro) not to mention the overpriced and supremely bland Cadillac XLR. Bravo to the Jaguar crew for coming up with what looks like a real winner!

I think it looks great (a tad too Aston-ish in the front, but still looks good) and a HUGE improvement over the outgoing XK which I didn't like AT ALL - too much like a jellybean. The cat is back.

The photo of the black interior had me making a double-take. Fantastic. That sticker is funny though.

I would like to see Jag uses Piano wood in new XK's interior instead of traditional Burled walnut. ;)

I like it. Not super crazy about the exterior styling - the front and the rear tail lights especially don't really say Jaguar. Looks somewhat like a big brother to a Ford Probe. Still the interior and performance are spot on. Certainly better than the gawdaweful 6-series from BMW.

it looks like an Aston! Which leads me to believe that since Ford owns both, then Aston and Jag must be sharing some kinda chassis components.
