With the higher milage I would say $1200. tops as a bid for that car. The 2.2 engine is a good engone but does not give the best of fuel milage of the size of car out there. It does not give the worst either. Parts are plentiful and easy to obtain as well as being at a good price. There is still tons of them on the roads as they do drive fairly well for the price involved. No telling if it will last the 4 years you need it or not.  If the truck can still serve you well then I would suggest driving it sparingly and still enjoy its usefulness to you.  :)

Thanks barrie, it seems like you've been on these forums a long time :) lol... I can't even remember when I joined these forums. Well I am going to keep an eye on the car and if it doesn't sell I will make the guy an offer.

your advice was greatly appreciated

And If I remember correctly I just looked on the forums for about a year before making my first post. Seems like a long time to me... I am only 22 :)

Just curious... what site did you use for the black book? I used the link from the BCAA (or AAA) member site.
thanks again

Sorry about the late reply.  I just use whatever link I can find through automaker's websites since they all seem to be bringing you to the same Canadian Black Book site.  That day, I went to Toyota.ca if I recall correctly, under 'appraise your trade-in' link which can be found in the 'Vehicles' section (at the very bottom).

It is worth nothing.  Seriously.  $300 on a trade-in...tops...It's 9 model years old.  Retail wise, if you can safety it, $1250.

Did you test drive it?  Those cars do not typically fair well with high km on them, anything over 60,000 and they really start to show their age.

It certainly is not worth more than $1000, its life is over.

Your Crazy, My Pontiac just rolled over to 320,000 and I've only ever had to do basic maintenance, brakes, oil, etc. These are great cars. Worth every penny.
