So, who's actually taken their car to the limit (and beyond) legally? I've done it once at a Solo 2 event and must admit, I think I'm hooked. ;D Anyone looking to try it out?

After all the good times James has shared with us here on the forum about his AutoX experiences in his S2000 (and how he can never catch the Miatas) I figured I've got no more excuses this year.  My friend with a lightly modded WRX and I are planning to take up the cone-bashing this year and see how we like it.  We've talked of pie-in-the-sky ideas about running the Targa Nfld one of these years (in his Subie of course).  Maybe if we do enough track sessions and AutoX we'll build up enough confidence to try it one of these years.

No facilities do participate up here in Sudbury. So I use the general public as fodder. Occasionally a test worthy car emerges from the pack to play.

I've done a couple of events, and some against the clock.  Never raced against other people on a track though which would be very exciting!!

Got to do that next...

I'd like to get an old Chevette or something and go ice racing at some point. I'll glad it didn't this year as its been really mild so far. Costs old trailer + tow mobile and the fact that I'd have to store it all somewhere have turned me off so far. Maybe give auto-x a try once the Seven is done.

Did a couple of autoX events a long time ago...let's see...18 years??  Yikes I'm old!  It was a blast though, and something I'd like to do again someday.

I did autoX a couple of times when I had the P5 but now with the 6-Wgn its too much of pig for that kind of stuff.  Would love to have a smaller second car to do it again though.  I keep thinking about signing up for some Porsche or BMW lapping school, does that count.

The closest I ever came was doing a couple of rallies in the Mini Cooper back in '70-71.

Lost count of AutoX events that I've done since 99. A coupla track days which I doubt I'd do it again as it really puts a toll on the car. A few winter rally TSDs. Last one was with wifey as navigator. She was pretty good.
Now that we're in Vancouver, not sure how's the Solo II events here.

I've taken my monster to the drag strip....broke a drive shaft 'U' joint.  Tried another full launch on a deserted road.....broke an axle....you'd think I'd learn.
I hope to try auto Xing it this year.  I won't be competitive, but 300 foo/tpounds of torque should be fun  ;D

I've had a few tries in my Protege at Woodstock, Ont.  The new Toyota plant is going to be built at that very spot so they will need to find a new lot.  They were great events, you got at least a dozen runs for your 20 bucks and there were not too many "deep pocket" cars there.

Did some AutoX events back when I had something to AutoX.  AutoX is fun, but I found you have to wait so long and then it's over in less than 2 mins.  I wish I had the money to get an extra car to do some track days.

I took my sportsbike to the drag strip a couple of times.
