My 99 Regal is at 190,000km right now and still running strong. I will need it at least another 2 years too so hopefully it lasts. My neighbour has one at 250,000km and his is fine, so I'm not too worried.

I re-aquired an 81' Cutlass that I leaned to drive with. It belonged to my dad who let a buddy borrow it for about 6 years. I then used it as winter beater in 93' with just over 300K on it. I drove through winter a sold it to the wrecker at 312K. It still ran without burning oil but it leaked at least three different kinds fluids.

239,000 km on a 1982 Civic 1500 GL. The mechanicals were fine: rust was the problem. |

239,000 km on a 1982 Civic 1500 GL. The mechanicals were fun: rust was the problem. That era of Honda was rusting before it came off the boat. |

Over 400,000km in a 1997 GMC Sierra that evil_twin and I shared...construction yellow. It could have gone even further if my evil_twin hadn't written it off while knocking the nose off a "U-turning" minivan.

We did almost no maintenance. I remember we had to replace the starter, but that was it. We bought the beast for $1800 and the insurance paid out $4000 after the accident. The Dodge Caravan owner (whose vehicle I cut so smoothly through) was not so lucky. A very profitable mishap |

I donated our 92 Jetta with almost 310 000km on it back in 2006 (and got a charitable donation receipt for $850). It was going to need some suspension work that I wasn't interested in getting into. I bought that when it was 5 years old with just 93 000km on it.
I also purchased the highly-coveted among drifters 85 Corolla GTS (rear drive) from a fellow coworker back in 2000. It had over 285 000km on it at the time (I paid $500) and sold it sight unseen for $500 a few years later with about 320 000km on the clock. Rust was becoming an issue.

1987 Nissan hardbody KK pickup 4 cyl 5 speed sold with 260,000 KM after 12 years was near showroom condition inside and out always sprayed with WD40 to prevent rust; very messy but worked back then. New owner still driving many years later. Was a great vehicle. bought it for $9000.00 sold it for $3500.00 hardly ever spent money on repairs, (never broke) brake pads replaced twice on it clutch was original. Used as a work truck with very loving care.
1994 Camry LE 330,000KM 4cyl auto Just purrs along the hi-way but all the isolating rubber that is used to make these Toyotas so quiet have dried up and become hard; a known problem and the engine mounts have stared to fail, again rubber. Car inside and out mint no rust except where its been hit by run away shopping cards and nasty people opening their car doors into it. Some of the door dents look look as they must have been done with intent. About to trade in.
1999 Nissan Frontier KK 4cyl 5peed 170,000 KM Still going strong but much more repairs than the first Truck. Spent more money on repairs in the first 4 years of ownership than I did in 12 years on the 1987 truck. Paint quality really bad more paint chips and scratches in one square foot than the other truck had all over in 12 years. Had the box sprayed with a Rino Liner should have had the whole truck covered; great product. Does that show how the car business is going. Hope to keep this truck for at least 300,000 Km if I can afford the repairs and the future gas to run it.
Wonder how many KM George Jetson has on his saucer now. |

1996 Mercury Mystique GS 4 cyl. 352,000 km when I sold it last fall for $600.00. It was hanging in there...safe, no holes and burning not a drop of oil but every conceivable wear item had been replaced. That plus a continuing litany of ball joints, tie rod ends, water pumps, struts, brake lines, timing belt, idler pullies, exhaust, catalyctic converters, cooling system hoses, etc., told me it was time to cut the old girl loose. Seems I was just too attached to cut her off life support earlier. |

1976 Buick Skylark- hand-me-down from dad. Car was worn out an disintigrating by 1990 even though I did my best to take care of it.Had over 15K Kms on it.
1990 Chevy Berretta GT. Extreamly poor GM product. Car was very well taken care of, but "wore out" prematurely. Had 150K Kms in 1997. Traded it for new 1997 Pontiac GP.
GP still going strong. 160K Km still going strong, after 2 engines and transmission rebuild, but showing signs of age. Cost cutting is starting to show. Still have a few years on it
As an update to that post. Grand prix lasted to 200K. Car aged very poorly and became unrelaible from that point on.
Replaced it with Mazda 3 GT last August. |

I would HOPE the Grand Prix is "running strong" after 2 engine and transmission rebuilds! |

1966 GM Beaumont, my father owned it and handed it down to me. Drove it for 4 years. Over 1,000,000 miles (which is about 1,609,344km). This car only had automatic transmission, AM radio and a block heater. Nothing else. Got rid of it in 2003 when I got a new car. Still ran fine with no problems and barely any rust. Got a good chunk of change from a car collector. Still miss it. |

Ditto - this old poll doesn't even have my option - 0 to 100000 KMs. |
