230000km 91 Toyota Tercel Sold her in 2003 as it was starting to eat oil again Sad

Repairs:
Rebuilt Engine, new front wiper motor, new plugs/wires, new exhaust, lots of lightbulbs, one check engine light can't remember what it was.  Overall it was pretty good and never left me stranded in 12 years !

I usually own cars and run them into the ground assuming it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to keep them on the road. When that starts happening, I usually get rid of them.

Volvo has 290,000 kms
Acura has 196,000 kms

No problems with either right now.

My Volvo was scrapped with 232 000 on the clock.  I wanted to keep it until 300 000, but the electrical system fried...

This one and two others similar Mercedes, all running strong when sold...

(My current 98 C230 has only 190,000 on the odo, so it's not even half way to the "sell" point.  Might get my 500K badge with this one...)

I'm going to try and keep the BMW for as long as I can.  I'm hoping for 300K.  It's got 176K now.

My Accord has 374,000kms on it right now. I bought it with 213,000kms on it.

No major problems. A few niggling things with the carburetor but it has never once left me stranded.

1988 Audi 90, Tornado Red, 5-speed (non-Quattro) with spoiler.  I loved that car.

Gave her up at 296,000 km.  Got too expensive to repair.   Cry  She looked very much like this one:

A neighbour had one of these cars. Bought it brand new. It was in the garage every 6 weeks or so.

An '88 Chev Corsica 2.0L (bought new)  made it to 315k kms before I damn near fell through the floor and had to dump it. Best car for the money I ever drove. Smiley

As part of the “settlement” with my first “X” I had to buy her a car. Me and the boys drove down to Winnipeg to catch a Jets game and it was -30 the entire weekend. On the way home on Sunday I bought the first car that would start, a 1990 Corsica. The car was junk and needed many repairs, it was the best car I ever bought. Smiley

I have never kept a car that long.  Why not add a section for 50,000 to 100,000?  Given some of the responses posted so far, it might actually be significant.  Smiley

I bought my Honda CRX new in 1990 with 0 K's and sold it a year and a bit ago with 365,000 K's.  Not a problem with it and still going stong when sold.  A fantastic car.

I have a couple of cars that where once mine. They are still owned within my family.

1991 Civic SI H/B bought new, currently just below 300000 KM's. Everything is original. Only things that have been replaced are normal wear and tear items. I think rust is going to kill it before the powertrain goes. Its creeping forward from the rear wheel wells.

1995 Mercedes Benz C220-Bought this in '96 with 16000 KM's. I believe it was a demonstrator a MB salesperson used for a year. Last time I checked the odometer is in the mid 200000KM range. This car has had wear and tear items replaced along with a  sunroof motor and an AC compressor. Still looks sharp.

Both vehicles are still incredibly reliable and dependable. I chalk that up to a religous maintenance regiment.

I usually scrap/sell once I start getting a bunch of serious problems.  Had my Neon from new to 150,000 km before selling it and I think that's the most I've ever put on a vehicle, I ususally just trade when I get bored driving the same thing.
