http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/060112.htm

overall speaking, it's a very good program for cars that are supposed to be here are tested and to be ready in the future...

here's my prediction:

1) Honda Accord Wagon (could have been our Acura TSX wagon) diesel: erm... it would be very "funny" on Acura line-up (i.e. a Japanese diesel!? no way!) but since we are more emphasized on fuel economy and ecology these days, an Acura diesel won't hurt ^^ (but i want the TSX wagon now!) (cry)

2) Smart 4-door: it's time to have a 4/5-seater since Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa... are already in market!

3) PT Cruiser/Caravan diesel: the latter is coming for sure, dunno the former one? (unless performing an engine-swap LOL)

4) BMW 320d (featured in last year's autoshow): i gonna place high bets on it! when our diesel is ready, this car is ready to RULE the luxury compact car market! (if A4 and C-class not yet offer diesel by then)

it's time to open the borders to let more efficient cars to be in Canada and benefit everyone of us ^^

Mercedes announced they will be offering the new Blue-Tech Diesel engines in all of their line-up......  If I remember that correctly.

The BMW 120d (1 series diesel) shown in the February issue of C &D) looks interesting.  161 hp and a whopping 251 pounds/feet of torque!

I remember seeing the Smart Roadster in France when I was there - very neat little machine.  Not sure if it would sell in North America; it's a 101 hp gas engine, and I imagine consumers over here want a bit more power in a roadster...  but the ForFour, I think, would be a great addition over here.

I saw a VW Polo or Lupo in downtown Ottawa today with ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY etc. etc. plastered all over it along with 3.0 L/100 km, so it must have been a TDI. I hope that means we might see little baby VWs here soon. If any company needs a subcompact in their lineup to start attracting entry-level buyers again, it's Volkswagen.
