Now if they can only get the build quality/reliability they have in the PT Cruiser.

:iagree:

If they get this right, and keep pricing reasonable, it should be quite a success, both here and abroad...

I thought it was ugly when I first saw pics, but now that I am seeing more and more, it doesn't look too bad. I'll reserve final judgement for when I see it in person.

I agree about the grill being very ugly. The whole vehicle is ugly based upon the pictures IMO.  :P

Weren't there rumors saying that the Caliber would be offered with the TDI engine from VW?

If they were true then it would make the Caliber a lot more interesting

I like the look of the Caliber - it's aggressive, bold, muscular.  It does look more like a truck than a car, but I for one don't mind.  I can't wait to see it in person.  Anyone know when it'll hit the showroom?

Back to the car...

Three engines seems a bit much, especcially three four-bangers.  With what the competition offers, the base engine should be adequete - I can see offering the 1.8 and 2.4, but three?  *shrug*

The absence of a manual tranny kills it for me.  Give me that, and this car would be worth some serious consideration, I think.

Hey Demo is does offer a manual transmission....but if ur looking at an AWD vehicle it will prolly be suited with the auto tranny...

Okay.  I didn't see any mention of a manual, but if they offer it great.  AWD is nice, but not by any means a neccessity - especially since Victoria doesn't get snow.

I'll be taking a close look at this car when it comes out, in this case.  Thanks.
