Ford would do better in NA if they brought some of their Australian cars in.
Cars like Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo (330 lb-ft, lots of horsies)
http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/xrt_xr6t2.htm

Rear wheel drive, rear gets control blade IRS suspension, nice looking, fast car.
There is a V8 version of it as well. Allready made Fords that would sell well in North America if they kept prices reasonable and it would definetely do better than the 500 did. This would work well with the "world" car thing as well.
Ford North America is what's dragging Ford company down, and has been for decades.

GM & Ford make pretty good Euro-cars, but they are good because they cost more.

Even Japanese car models, available in Europe and the UK, are higher quality in Europe but cost more.

I remember sitting in a North-America-made 2002 Honda Civic and comparing it against the British-made 2002 Honda Civic.

Whilst some parts door handles, switches, heating controls were clearly the same, the British Honda Civic used much more high-quality materials for the dash and especially for the seat. The British steering wheel was less plasticky (it was faux leather) and the centre panel was made of clearly better plastic.

The trade off is that before tax, my British Honda Civic cost a little over CAD $ 23,000. And that was the base automatic model, with the only extras being power mirrors, single CD player and air conditioning.

Assuming the Conservatives get in I wonder how that will affect Ford. Maybe they should wait until the 24th and then the newly elected government can give them the rest of Canada that we haven't already given away.

Free is good. Free fits in with Ford too.  Free -land, Free Sea, Free me!
