Steering wheel adjusts for height (but not in and out)

Are you sure? I'm pretty certain my '02 S60 has a wheel that adjusts in and out.. I'll check again tonight.

Nice! I'd love a Volvo, even an older one, but there's no way my budget will stretch. What did you pay for it, and what consumption do you get approx?

I bought an April '02 S60 2.4T in Jan 2005 with 73000 kms on it for $28,500 before tax. I added in snow tires & steel rims from the deale, scotchguard, and an additional 2 years warranty to give me a total of 4 years / 87,000 kms bumper to bumper warranty coverage from the time I pick up the car, so it's got a full Volvo warranty until April 2009 on mechanicals and electricals.

All that, with taxes included, came to $36,356.

Ye gods, thanks, so it does! Just took a break from welding a Spit bonnet, and watched!
Something else of note was the fact that there are 3 power seat memory buttons.

My '93 850 had these.  Hope the S60 gives you lots of great years of service.  My '93 850 had 230 000km on the clock and my mechanic said the engine and autotranny were in mint shape.  But shortly thereafter the electrical system burned and I scrapped the car (repair would have been almost the value of the car.)  Keep a close eye on any electrical niggles.  These are the achilles heal of many European cars...
