and i will definately call and get them not to put a dealer sticker on, and tell them exactly why (ie/ dont' want to advertise their crummy stealership.

I actually have not seen new car dealer's apply stickers to the rear of cars lately; usually license plate frames.

I would just request that no stickers be placed on the paint because you are a purist. ;D  I would not :censor: anybody off at this dealership; a thing called warranty work. ::) :P  Your deal is fine for where you are.  Rear flaps and block heater along with grad rebate and old price is good.  What you need wheels locks for on a DXG is beyond me; is theft that bad in Saskatoon  ???

That's the one that I wonder why people are so concerned about. When buying a car you deal with sales. You go in service for your warranty work. There's no connection between two of them, at least not that I could notice myself. I bought my car from an excellent salesman, and the service manager (and the warranty service in general) was really not worth to write home about at this dealer. So I just changed the dealership that will look after warranty issues, if any.

If there is only one Honda dealership in Saskatoon I would temper my temper.  :)

In small markets where there is only one dealer it does not pay to get into a pissing match with the dealer people.  People are people in small centres; you :censor: them off and they will remember you.  Small market dealerships are small businesses and not much goes down in any department that is not noticed by all.  That's how it is in my area.

Dealer life is repetitive and boring.  You get a d*ck customer in your face and it is a temporary source of entertainment to return the favour.

Could the fee be for the VIN etching service?
I think you can buy an etching kit from APA for $45

That's exactly what it is. However, for that money you get additional insurance coverage should the car be stolen (probably $5000). As has been said, it is optional.

The real ripoff is that $45 APA etch kit.

Yeah, god knows why someone would want to steal those ugly steel wheels is beyond me as well.  However, someone tried to steal the front wheel off my bike the first week i had it!!!!   so maybe there is a reason for the wheel lockS here in saskatoon.  lots of poor folk who will take anything if its not tied down.

I'm not going to get in a pissing match with the dealer.  i will ask about a frame for the plate instead of a sticker.

Thanks everyone for the advice.  I was still mad yesterday writing that about the dealer sticker.   My take on it is that it was just a lousy sales rep, and the manager has tried his best to make up for his incompetence.

I will for sure post pics when it arrives!

So David you back to normal now since you got your car. ;)

A few things:

The DXG price did increase - $580 in Ontario

In Sask is there no front license plate required?  If so, that is so nice.  :'(  big envy.

What is that big building in the background?

Yeah, glad i got it when i did. Also got the grad reabate on the last day of the program.  Sask got rid of the front licencse as a means to save money.  (i like it too!)  Sask also boasts the cheapest insurance in canada (and they don't gender and age discriminate) and they discount a safe driving record.  the insurance  operates on a break-even basis over time, so drivers pay less.  The building in the background is the credit union centre, nee sasktel place.  It is where the Saskatoon Blades hockey team plays.  It is also home to live concerts by notable artists such as Hilary Duff and nickleback  :P

If AB and SK can see the enlightened position of no front plate, why can't BC? I hate front plates but don't want to move to the cold just to get rid of it... ;) ;D

Well, David, theres just UNDER a million of you think that way. BC is well over 4 million and growing daily so the grey skies aren't that bad. As to the cold, been there, done that.

Anyway, nice new ride, and nice new no front plate.......... :rofl2:

Yes, It's a good place to live - not too big (165K in greater city), weather is drier than Coast and warmer than Calgary, easy to get around and most of the amenities of the bigger cities without the traffic and the crime.

It's like spring here today with 8 or 10 above, big blue sky and a slight breeze. Almost convertible weather, mmmm......should go car shopping? ............naw, just gets me in trouble....  ::)

Ah, logic, how I've missed thee...  ICBC posts $300+ million profits.  Not that their rates are bad, mind, but still.  $300 million?

Did someone say "convertible shopping?"  Blue skies and 4 degrees yesterday; I passed a 350Z roadster with the top down (unfortunately it also had a hideous body kit on it too).  Today it's sleet coming down sideways and 2 degrees.  Boooo!

Davidroy, nice Civic.  That colour does look great on that car!
