I did a lot of research into the Beat (I can't drive either of the cars before buying). Every single source I've seen rates the Suzuki as a much better car. I like the technical specs of the Suzuki better - traditional front engine, rwd layout with four wheel disc brakes, control arm suspension (no crappy struts here), rack and pinion steering. The Beat seems like an ok idea but the reality I guess is not so hot. They sold almost all the production in the first year. Never a great sign.
I'm going to start on the Lotus Seven clone chassis at the start of January. Its budget has accounted for and won't be affected by an additional car.
