« on: December 01, 2005, 07:04:50 pm »
We are thinking of getting a new avalon xls with the B package. I was wondering if there is anything I should know about and around how much discount I could get..
Thanks for the help :)

Sounds like a nice car, unicalex, and welcome to the forum.

As to discount, it may depend where you are located. Here in BC, you get very little off on Toyota prices but you can usually get some "freebies" thrown into the deal. Things like cargo nets, maybe extra rims for snows, all-season mats (carpet mats are included), etc.

All around a great vehicle - the benchmark for a large and comfy high quality car that is also now quite the powerful beast. Good fuel economy with that engine power too.

They're selling pretty well, so I wouldn't expect dealers to beg for your business, but give it a try.

Hi thanks for welcoming me :)
Since I bought my car from the same salesperson, he offered me a discount of 3000$ and some little freebies as well. So does this mean it's a good deal?
Oh by the way, this car is for my mom.. her car (97 cadillac sts) died on us.
Thanks for the help.
Is there anything I should watch out about the car?

Sounds like an excellant deal for a Toyota to me.  :) I would be happy with that.

I don't think there is anything to watch for or be concerned over. If your mom is doing winter driving, and she lives in real winter conditions, she should put on 4 snow tires.

What color does she want?

Mark-up from invoice on an XLS is about $3,450. At $3,000, have to say you're doing pretty good   Couldn't ask for more, really.

Between XLS and Touring, the difference is only $1,264 at invoice but interestingly $1,900 at retail. Extra wiggle-room there.

We want a white one :)
The thing I don't understand is why the XLS doesn't offer even as an option H.I.D light..
Only the touring models comes with H.I.D but the touring doesn't offer any packages..

and thanks again for the help. I guess I'm getting a good deal :)

Yes, that pearlized white color is very sharp.

Congrats on your choice (or mom's). A couple of pictures posted on here when she gets it would be appreciated.

A beauty indeed!  I examined one a few weeks ago, slate grey in color,  it's the benchmark IMO.

Well to keep it updated, we got the car with 3300$ off and free floormats + key chains.

Overall I think it's a pretty good car  :)
