By what I've been reading on miata.net, it's what Msian has said.  I don't feel it's worth taking a chance over-stressing the vinyl

Just don't inflate her too much then!

So, I decided to throw caution to the wind, and take the twisty route home last night with the top down.  The sensation was kind of like sitting in a hot-tub in the winter.  The top of my head was cold, but the rest of me was toasty warm.  Kinda neat.

The new MX-5 has dash vents and foot vents in the normal spots, but it also has an extra set that keeps your hands and mid-section warm during top-down motoring.  I was surprised how well it worked.  In fact, the heater was warm enough that I had it at only half-blast and too hot for my feet.

Today is the first roadtrip I'll take with her.  I've got our mid-size suitcase, a skate bag, ice-fishing gear, extra boots, a Cranium box and second backpack in the trunk.  Let's see ya do THAT in a Solstice.  :)

Man is that EVER nice looking!!!  :o The alloys do complement the car really well.

Man, I wish I could get one  :-\

There hasn't been much snow this year, but with the limited amount we've had you think it tracks well?

We best be seeing this beaut in person sometime soon!

Looks great Jeff, thanks for the pic.
Congrats again.
Driving home the last two days I thought - hmm - would be nice to have the steering react a little more quickly at times.  I doubt that's a feeling you'll be having anytime soon.

I've thought about selling the monster and buying a new MX-5.  My wife won't drive the monster....something about no power steering and the fact that she's not allowed to park it in mall/super store parking lots  ;D (and under NO circumstances is she to fully depress the gas pedal!)
MX-5 looks very nice in black.  Why can't Mazda Canada offer dark grey, with the tan leather interior, cloth top, suspension package/LSD option, zenon headlights and side air bags?  I know, it would be too expensive, but it would be one Hell of a great little vert.

You can equip it exactly as you requested above, EXCEPT for the LSD/suspension option.  That's why I went for the GS model.  The cloth top looks nicer, but isn't that big a deal to me and I'm happy to NOT have leather for a change.  Xenons aren't necessary in it either -- the halogen projectors are incredibly bright.  The only complaint for my car is the lack of side airbags and a decent stereo.  No biggie (unless I someday need the SABs!)

I should have posted this before.  No Miata owner should  miss Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker" video...
