I don't know how many of you watch any or all of the episodes of Victory by Design on Speed. The title and presentation of the show that profiles historic marques and their forays into the racing world, as well as the host Alain de Cadenet's delivery, come off as a bit snooty. And because of that, I've usually only sampled bits and pieces of the show before. Last night though, I watched all of the episode featuring Alfa Romeo. It was great fun watching (as well as listening) to these rare and valuable race cars being put through their paces rather than just having a camera circle around them as they sit on a museum floor or concours grass. No kid glove treatment for these cars, either. Watching de Cadenet put a wheel off into the finely manicured lawn, or coaxing a power-on wiggle exiting a turn must have had car owners cringeing.
Worth a watch.
