There is one new Jetta in Port Alberni. The first time I saw it coming toward me I thought "Gee, what a nice colour on that Corolla!", then I saw the VW badge and understood all the style similarity comments.

Make a 4Motion in a wagon for $35k and Wiffy would be driving one in March.
But you wouldn't consider the current Passat Wagon 1.8T with 4MOTION for $35Gs? Wary of the older design, tired of it, or just like the size of the Jetta?I like the Jetta better. I have sat in both and consider the new Jetta more comfortable and I could be wrong here….but I think the Jetta has more interior room. |

There are surprising numbers of Jetta 2.5 with hub caps in Vancouver.

Yeah, surprising how many people have bought the base-of-the base 2.5's with the wheel covers. The base car does have enough equipment... but because so many are buying it wish it had the alloys.
The Passat is larger than Jetta inside - only by 1 cubic foot on paper, but the vehicle feels much wider inside to me - in the rear especially.

There are not many Jetta 2.0T because most ppl would rather go Passat 2.0T or Jetta TDI.

More likely the reason is that the 2.0T hasn't been on the market as long as the 2.5. I haven't seen a single new Jetta yet that wasn't silver or grey, 2.5 with 16" alloys. No idea what the base wheel covers even look like. I guess people don't buy VW in great numbers around here, although there are two dealerships in town. |

I've never really been overly hot on the current trendy grey colour. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't make me say "wow" the way some other colours do, regardless of the car we're talking about. I still think VWs look good in silver, but I miss Silver Arrow from the A3 and A4 Jettas. Reflex Silver doesn't have the same glow to it. |

I have 2000km on my Blue 2.0T, sport susp,17"tires,DSG....getting about 500km from just over 3/4 a tank. This car is a thrill everytime. Great sound from the exhaust; on the highway I find myself doing 140km/h without trying...Very comfortable at 180 to 200km/h. Plently of neat ideas with this car, but it was a close call between this and the "new" Accord... I really need to find a track and give this car its due. |

Exact same specs as the one I just delivered last week, but his was Spice Red with Xenons. The Accord V6 wouldn't be able to keep up with you! |

I'm curious, what does the Silver Arrow color look like? Mine is Reflex Silver and I love it. Sure it's not as flashy or "wow" than a bright red or a nice Blue, but I really like how my car looks with tinted windows and the black plastic bug deflector... I really ought to post pictures of my car sometime... |

Not sure how to describe the difference between the two. Silver Arrow was also a light silver, but it was a little brighter. Really glowed under certain conditions in a way Reflex Silver doesn't. I think 2000 or 2001 was the last year for Silver Arrow on the Jetta. Not sure why they changed over. |

Reflex Silver looks more glossy but Silver Arrow looks plain in comparison.

Nope, that's backwards. In 2001 I was considering trading my Jetta in on a Golf 1.8T and the plainer Reflex Silver on the Golf was one of the reasons I didn't. |

The "Silver Arrow" was done away with when the Gen III cars ended in 1999. The 1999.5 New Jetta and Golf had "Satin Silver" - a tiny shade darker. In '01 the colour changed to the "Reflex Silver" of today.
To my eyes the Silver Arrow looks more like silver without a finish. Very bright, flat, and true silver-silver. |

Close -- Silver Arrow continued on the Jetta for '99.5 and 2000. Satin Silver was Golf/GTI only. In 2001 the Jetta and Golf both changed to Reflex Silver. I'd forgotten all about Satin Silver til now. Thanks for the reminder! |
