Winter tire for Honda Civic
« on: November 16, 2005, 09:29:30 pm »
Hi ,

I have a Civic 2004 Si. The summer tire are 195/60 R15.

I want to get a smaller (cheaper) tire. Honda told me that 185/70 R14 would be the best choice.....do you agree ?

Do you have suggestions on good winter tire . Keep in mind that I don't want to pay for a name (Bridgestone, Michelin...etc).

The best quality for the bucks.......I'm leaving in the Montreal (Quebec) area, so we are more on icy conditions than "full" snow.....

Thanks !

185/70/14 is the correct size for your Civic. If you dont want to spend too much and are looking for a good ice tire consider the Kumho KW11. Very well priced and has gotten very good reviews.

Sounds good....thanks !

I've read that they are phasing out that tire, is it true ?

Would Cooper W411 be in the same category ?

It is a little older now and in some sizes has been replaced by the KW19. Cant comment on the Cooper as it is something we dont sell. Sure someone will come along with some real world experience.
