The new 2007 Escalade
« on: November 10, 2005, 09:22:17 pm »
They've introduced the new Escalade at the South Florida International Auto Show.

- 6.2-liter V-8 with 403 horsepower
- 6-speed automatic transmission
- All-wheel drive

The ESV and EXT models will be rolling out throughout the year. GM will offer DVD navigation, satellite radio, and a power third-row seat; standard safety gear includes side curtain airbags, stability control, anti-lock brakes and OnStar.

It now resembles the rest of the Caddy family.  The interior looks pretty good.  Looks very well screwed together...but that will mean that the 'bling bling' customizers will have that much more difficulty prying it apart so they can put in their 8 LCD monitors.  ;)

It's about time they made this thing into something worth the price of admission.

Pretty good effort!

They be a pimpin' good ride, eh dude?  :stick:

On second thought, I don't think so. But there is a Caddy Escalade in black driven by a blonde female person a few blocks over and it has BIG flashy wheels (but no where near 30" - 22 or 24" maybe). IMO it looks like crap, but the blonde is not too bad (just bad taste in wheels). The 'lade wouldn't be a bad vehicle without those monster wheels.

I've got a black 'Sclade in our neighbourhood with chrome 24's on them.  The dude runs them year round.  Stupid asss.  The house with his and her Hummers also run bling bling twinkies....but they have enough brains to take them off in the winter.  Then there's the Acura MDX with 20" rims on them....oh my goodness...they are the ugliest set of rims I've ever seen.  A set of black steelies would look better on the car.  But the weiner of the gaudy award goes to the guy on the next block with 24" spinners on his white EXT.  Dude thinks everybody stares at him and his rims because of envy.....I do it more out of pity and humour in the morning.  The pride gleams off his face....it's hilarous.

There is definitely too much money in Calgary... :o

Do you live NW, Mdx as I thought you were in the West, up around Sentinal Hill. Then initial_d's post of another thread said you were once neighbors.

Just as a reference, when I was in Calgary in the late 60s, the NW edge of the city was new Show Homes in the just starting area of Huntington Hills.

I worked with Carma for a bunch of years in the 70s during which time we developed Varsity Estates, finished Dalhousie, did Silver Springs, started Scenic Acres and some others in the NW. Built the S/S Golf Course also.

Calgary is growing so fast that I can't keep track of the new areas even when I am over there every summer visiting. So, JD, where is Cougar Ridge? (and I hope not where those 45 years old single females attack younger guys like you !!!  8)).

Cougar Ridge is a new one to me.

There is a lot of money in the Calgary area.  It's booming...and I don't seem to be getting any of that moolah.  Initial_d and I neighbours?  Not that I know of.  I am out west....not in the fancy Springbank Hill or Bearspaw area....but I'd like to be....if I could get my hands on some greenbacks.  The building that is going on is phenomonal.  Airdrie will be touching Calgary soon and Canmore is a hop skip and a jump away.  Okotoks touches the southern part of the city now.....

I'm just a young pup trying to get a nut.....don't have the means to be living in the ritzy neighbourhoods of the well-heeled.

Cougar Ridge is out west....by COP.  The problem I have with new homes is the lack of proper seperation between houses.  Minimum 4' between homes and small backyards.  It's like everybody is living on top of one another.
