Wandering back on track to the subject here.......

Smart move by Honda. Keep the product in low supply and hold the value. No wonder they make so much money. Besides if the Pilot and MDX are still in high demand the plant is better off working on those two.

A glut of product would mean they would have to discount 'em to move 'em. This way they stay out of that game and I think it's a good decision. They are not immune though and already they have problems with to much RL production as noted in another thread.

Plus, with the Civic being built in Alliston as well, I don't think they're laying people off from Ridgeline production.

Side tracked here. Is Element manufactured in Alliston too ? will the supply ever be low so it holds value too ?

Element comes from across the pond.

Honda has two plants in Alliston - the Civic Nation plant that also makes the Acura version - CSX I think and then the other plant that produces Pilots, MDxs and the Ridgeline.

incorrect, the Elements are built in Ohio. CR-V is the only Honda (sold in volume) still built in Japan and imported to Canada

I knew the Elements were built in North America as I saw articles that they were planning to export some back to Japan.

Which CR-V's come from the U.K.? Is that for the US or Canadian market, or that was just in the recent couple of years but doesn't happen anymore?

Also, saw an ad in the paper and beside the photo for a RidgeLine it said in bold "Available in white too". Is this a change, or were people requesting this? Why would the ad specifically call out the white? Any idea HSG?

Japanese cars (Honda/Toyota) are not big on the color white.  No idea why?

For example, Accords are available in white in the US but not in Canada.

White is more popular in the US than Canada due to the climate in a number of southern states. Go to Arizona and every second car/truck is white.

Besides, Canucks lose white cars in the snow......... ;D ;D

In Japan I believe white is by far the most popular colour.

With the larger body size of most trucks I can understand because of the heat problems with some of the other colours. My truck is Snow White but for a different reason then the heat. It always was White and I restored it to its original Condition and Colour.  :)
