Anything small people think is electric. Even more so a small car with "Toyota" on it - that's the hybrid brainwashing in action.
Actually, what I found really hillarious was when I was in Montreal a few months ago. This couple from the US was eating at Schwartz's and there was a Smart ForTwo outside and they couldn't stop talking about it. They were convinced it was electric, even tho the waitor explained it was diesel. Said the usual "oh, I wouldn't drive that on the highway" while wearing their American Flag shirts, but had a nice long look at it once out of the restaurant. They couldn't believe it was a Benz product, and "Hmmm"'d at the price. Kept on saying "Look... that's where the spot is supposed to begin and that's where it ends... it doesn't even take up half of the spot!!!" Must have been pickup/SUV drivers. My friend and I just laughed to each other, as they were so fitting of the American stereotype we couldn't help ourselves - you would have had to of been there to fully appreciate the situation.
