Winter slalom!  Nice.

The picture is taken next to the ice race track at the Minden Fairgrounds.  It would be nice to take a few laps there...  This winter I am planning to get my Subi  to winter slaloms with WOSCA (Western Ontario Sports Car Association).

That certainly makes for an interesting pair. I really enjoyed my Forester and still have a soft spot in my heart for Subies. Echo hatches, being ancestor to my car, are right in there too. I like!!  ;D

Oh, and it's nice to see cars GET DIRTY! They are to be used, after all!!

Light AWD hatchback with a decent weight-to-hp ratio and exceptional handling is my dream car! Something like

Very nice STi.  Looks very nice in silver.  I would love to own a 2006 STI.....in white please.  It would have to be in white, to follow in the foot steps (tire tracks?) of my wife's 1988 Subaru Justy.(think she'd notice the difference in power?  ;D
1997 track/street Miata - I need a turbo!

Thanks guys;

froggy -
both are BBS rims, forged on STi and alloy cast RK on WRX.  Those STi rims are way too expensive - dealer's quote was $1400 a piece! I got a winter SET for $650, tax in.

robarakira-
No problem, but some annoying things. The stock springs are a bit overdumped, so there is a tendency to bounce and oscillate a bit, but the problem should be cured with stiffer springs. Overall suspension setup is a bit harsh, but I don't mind it.

84im-
She might notice the difference...  ;) Sometimes I feel that STi is a bit slow, until I drive Echo... not that our HB is slow mind you.

Here is a weird picture - our HB in Siesta Key, Fl. Locals would ask me if it is electrical  ::)

Very sharp looking STi there, vz64. I like the old WRX wagon in the blue also. Thanks for posting the pix.

I thought someone on here said their wife did not like their STi, but I guess it wasn't in this thread. I was going to add to that comment, that I doubt my wife would like an STi either. My wife complains about the way I drive my Bullitt Mustang so I can imagine my driving in an AWD STi would not cause her to be happy either.  ;D ;D

A very interesting selection of rides you have/had.     It's good to see Subies seeing ice and snow (and dirt).

"Is it electric?"  Were these people asking you this from the driver's seat of their Escalade/Durango/Expedition?  :D

thanks! Can't wait to see snow...

The guy was just walking by... Well, I think around 80% of parked cars there were SUVs/minivans/trucks, so he might as well drive Expedition.  Those big SUVs...  Last year we wanted to rent a minivan to get kids to our son's birthday, but ended up with Durango instead (free substitute). What a boat... completely detached sense of control (as if it drives on its own), excessive rolling, and mediocre breaking.  I felt scared for myself and for those cars around me ... I don't know how anybody can feel safe driving these monsters, tailgating  and speeding. I understand some big SUV can handle well (FX35 I drove, Accuras, Cayenne, etc.), but not this fella... Well, I noticed everyone kept away from me, so it helps a bit  ;)

Wasn' the echo hatch a Canada only car when it first came to NA? That might be a reason why people were asking if it was "electric".... perhaps because they had never seen one before  ???
