Topic: Does anyone own a truck !

My old 72GMC has around 136,000 miles on the cab and chassis, it has the 3rd engine in it because the original motor was a in-line 6 and then a 1974 Chev 350 replaced that. Since then i have installed a Blueprinted and Balanced 355 with original Camel Hump heads and it is pushing around 430Hp now. It has a custom 400turbo behind it with a 2600stall convertor made by B&M. This is a heavy halfton truck with the fleetside 8ft box and is totally rebuilt in its original White colour. If we didn't get snow here i would never park at all but as it is too powerful to drive on the ice and snow I am forced to just for the winter.

Barrie , couldnt you put a plow on it?

No as I doubt I could get enough traction even with the big tires on the back. The last time i ran this truck at the track it spun the back wheels almost the whole qt mile as it was. Its only a 2 whl drive model anyways so its not exactly built for that purpose. Old Tex dosen't see NO Snow if I can help it and never will again as long as I own it.  Its too pretty to beat up on that way.

But you could clean the parking lot so fast, put a sander on back for weight

More to the point, who drives a truck just because they like trucks? I personally have no use for one but I think they look cool as heck. So beyond the capability to haul stuff, what do you love about driving your truck?

the seats are great,
you can see the road in front over all the small cars
the size of the cab , it gives you a very open feeling
smooth ride,
if you want to go up and down the highway ,it is hard to fine a better then the newer pickups

Mine was an inherted second vehicle, I started a new job and we needed a second vehicle. At the same time my father, who was supposed to retire this fall{Trucker with 36 years under his belt, was offered new truck to drive more season, my mother is still shaking her head} was selling his 1990 D250 with the little Cummins under hood. Their was no question what I would want. At 400K she starts down to -15C on the first turn of the crank without being plugged in and still turns in 27 MPG(loaded or empty}.

Yes they are out there but that was a while ago and trying to find them now might be like a needle in a Haystack. I still have the file you did up for me but have not figured out yet how to post them. Come spring I should and will do some more fresh ones as its time for New pics of  the Old Toy. The engine needs another steam cleaning again but other then that its still in great shape.
