By far the best part of Rut Ro is driving it.  Even after flubbin' my launch, that poor souped-up Civic headed on to the 427 didn't have a chance...  If power is addictive, Snowman's WRX is cocaine.

So I guess Bob Delfy's got the crystal meth...

Does that mean there is madness in his meth(od)??  Grin

I buried the needle deeper than indicated….at the time I decided to concentrate on the corner approaching very quickly…perhaps 235ish.  Cool

I am amazed that such an aerodynamically challenged box like the WRX is can be so smooth at that speed. Not many cars can be driven one handed past 200 without being nervous.

Have you ever checked your speed with a GPS?
I know my WRX speedo is dead-on at 120km/h but off a bit after 150km/h or so...just wondering what yours is like...

Snowman, what kind of shoes do you wear?! Seems heavier than the ones I can buy!  Smiley Huh

Rut Ro, Scooby, come home to your Uncle! Got a lot of fresh white stuff for you!

No....I have no idea what the actual speed would be. I do not think a WRX can go much faster than 235 no mater what the HP is......well maybe 500hp would help.

Now Snowy, if you'd done that run on a 1/4 tank of gas instead of 3/4, you would have got another 1 or 2 mph out of 'er.  Wink

I read an article recently about the latest Euro Gumball Rally and how these two Cdn brothers entered an old 928 S4 (heavily modded).  They would cruise along at around 150 mph or so on the freeways with a few little modded WRX's in tow trying to pass.  Every time they would attempt a pass on the Porsche, the 928 driver would simply squeeze it up past 170 and the poor Subies would fall back.  At the next stop he asked the drivers what it was like driving the WRXs at that speed and they all said it was horribly unstable.  The Porsche, on the other hand, was smoooooth and solid.
