My 2002 Nissan Pathfinder
« on: October 27, 2005, 09:46:16 pm »
My Ride

2002 Nissan Pathfinder, Chilkoot Edition.  For use in my environmental/forestry services business in BC.

Purchased December 2004 with 62,000 km.  Now (Oct 2005) has 85,000 km
Equipped with: A/T, AllMode 4WD system, LSD, LT 10 ply rated tires, 2 way radio for communication with logging trucks (do not want to get hit by one of those!  :o  ).

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly:

The Good: Fuel economy (25 MPG highway, 18 or so in the bush), excellent off road abilities, ride, cargo capacity, fits in the garage (even with the Thule on), reliability (so far).

The Bad: Rear seat a little small (but I do not sit back there, so don’t care), not much in the way of off road modification parts/accessories, difficult to upsize tires due to clearance issues with suspension bits.

The Ugly: The paint is well chipped on the front hood (but this allowed me to get a better price and it does go in the bush, so the paint will get banged up anyway).

Overall, I am very happy with my truck.  It has done everything I have asked it to do without complaint.  The AllMode 4WD system is a bonus.  Do not understand why Nissan does not put this in the Xterra and lower trim levels of the new Pathfinder.

The Pathy's are nice...had a chance to drive one for a few trips around town.  Not where this thing really excels but it was nice.  The previous model was getting on in years but it was still a capable off roader with decent on road manners.  I like them more than the 4Runner's myself.

Mine's dirty too!  It sat in the rain last night (for 1/2 hour) before I moved it into the garage.  Does that count towards my rugged image?  :)

Yes….a real SUV. My mother is on her second one and will probably get a new one next year. Many years of trouble free driving.

Owned a 93 Pathfinder for 8 years.  WHAT A GREAT VEHICLE!  I only sold it because I needed a pickup truck.  140,000 kms....with the original battery and brakes. :)  The best vehicle I've ever owned.

Nice set of wheels trainman. I've always liked that Generation of Pathfinders. A Friend of mine owns one (MY2000) and is still happy with it today.

Thanks, I rather like mine as well.  And a very capable bush truck, surprisingly.
