Audi to introduce 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel in Q7 model

Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi announced that the 2008 Q7 model   will be available with a new 3.0-litre V6 TDI (turbo diesel injection) engine in North America.

The 3.0 TDI engine produces 233 hp and 369 lbs-ft of torque at 1750-2750 rpm. The torque produced by this new powerplant is 14% greater than the currently available 4.2 FSI V8 gas engine.

When this model debuts it will be on my short list. Hopefully it will be close to the V6 gasser pricing.

I road tested a gas one last summer and was VERY impressed. To bad they would not move on the price at all then. They now advertize them at $15K off. $52K for a nicely equipped premium model...

Do you have a link to a national ad, that would make this very attractive for my Mom or was it a local deal?

It's national. Don't think it's $15,000 on the '07s although my local Audi dealer is advertising similarly ($20,000 off). In the last Thursday Globe Auto there was a Toronto dealer (Downtown Fine Cars?) with 2 Q7 3.6 Premiums with the S-Line pkg, various options listed similarly.

Here it is http://www.dfcaudi.com/ ---err 'Audi Uptown' now (has anyone been to it? Apparently large dealer)...
Q7 3.6 PREMIUM Cobalt Blue / Black 3rd Row Seats $63,700  $54,500
Q7 3.6 PREMIUM Condor Gray Metallic / Black 3rd Row, Convenience Pkg, Car has 18" Rims!!! $65,400  $56,000
Q7 3.6 PREMIUM Condor Gray Metallic / Black 3rd Row, Convenience Pkg, Panoramic Roof $67,700  $57,300
Q7 4.2 PREMIUM Light Silver Metallic / Black Towing Package, I pod, Wood/Leather Steering Wheel, Car has 19" Alloys!!! $81,900  $70,800

I'm not a fan of Condor Gray, but think Cobalt Blue is specific to S-Line models and that is hot! EDIT: It's the other dark blue specific to S-Line, but both are swanky.

Officially it's $5,000 on the 3.6, $5,500 on 4.2. Mind you for 2008 the base 3.6/4.2 models have been dropped while Premium pricing is lowered by a few thousand which cuts the value of that deal. Any dealer with '07s is likely to show discounts of $5-20,000 though.

Audi DT is advertising '07s at US prices + 5% GST cut http://www.audidowntowntoronto.com/en_CA/f_HomeMisc_1.chtml

Really just need to find a dealer with a desirable unit in stock.

Only problem is that my Mom didn't really like the Q7 (and they're out of the country).  My guess is that there won't be a decision made until 2008.

Hmmmm. If she doesn't like it the best deal is none at all. Not worth driving something you dislike. Out of curiousity, has she made mention of what she thinks of your Murano? Besides the Nissan badge, the size/style/etc? Maybe she hasn't seen it much, I dunno.

I thought the original Cayenne was already returned? If so, what is her mode of transport these days?

She's ok with the Murano, but doesn't like the nissan brand.  I think if the price is right she would be ok with the Q7.

Cayenne went back at the end of october, been using my dad's lexus - they're out of the country now and will be gone for the end of december as well, so apparently no rush for a car right now.
