I know, I know, the new Forester is not Subaru enough for the true Subie Heads (or whatever they call themselves) but it has done wonders for Subaru.  I was asked questions at the Langdale ferry terminal about mine this week; I have been approached in parking lots; waved at on the highway; had vehicles slow down to look at me.  Nothing like this has ever happened with any other vehicle I have driven.

I had that kind of harassment when I first got the Beetle.   You can forget about privacy for the next while.   :)

Showed the wife the Forester, the top of the line one, some things we talk about
1) passenger seat no power also it is very low
2) no memory on driver seat
3) no duel zone HVAC
4) 5 or 6 speed auto
5) a diesel ;D that one is a dream
Charge a bit more and include these items

It's not perfect but it is much more in tune with what most people want than it was before, especially rear seat room.  On that trip I mentioned I had three full grown men, plus luggage and had no real issues for space.  The rear seat leg room is very good for a vehicle its size.

But it will not appeal to all, just as BMW or GMC will not appeal to some  ;)

Wait until your wife is a bit older
#3 is a must ;D
For a Limited Package these #2 and #3 should be included
#4 probably in a couple of years
And like I said #5 is just a dream ;D

But you know, they give awesome service, and Norrie has won awards for customer service.  They are an awesome bunch, know their stuff, and treat the customers really, really well.  Compare with the Toyota dealer, which is a nice building, and the service writers are clueless, and treat customers like crap.

I'd much rather be treated well by people who know their stuff, in an environment that reminds me of a friend's place, than to be treated like crap by a gang of idiots, in a place shiny and glitzy.

My 2006 Impreza is now an orphan. The local dealer (Kingston, ON) claims that Subaru has been leaning on them to invest more than $2 million to build a new building out in the western 'burbs, to compete with the big glass showrooms recently built by Honda and Toyota. He's going to give up the franchise and become a used car/service garage rather than trying to expand in the present climate. Can't say as I blame him. It seems insane timing, not to mention the fact that banks don't lend money anymore.

I liked the sales staff (non-Herb Tarlick) and service (competent and honest). From personal experience and stories from others, both are unusual for new car dealers in Kingston.
