10A Fuse can change to FWD ?

I have a 1996 Subaru Outback.Just want to ask about the 10A fuse plug is that i can plug it in all the time to made it front wheel drive to save some gas ? ;D

It's my undertsanding that you should not use the FWD fuse unless necessary.  Also, the parasitic losses to the AWD system aren't too significant on the Subaru systems.

A fuse isn't gonig to disconnect the rear driveshaft physically, so you'll still have the parasetic loss of turing the rear driveshaft and such.

From what I understand, installing the fuse powers up a pump which then disengages the rear axle...but is for use at less than 50km/hr, for no more than 50 km.

As far as JD's comment, no a fuse won't disengage the rear axle PHYSICALLY, but then again, it isn't connected PHYSICALLY in the first place.  It's a fluid coupling.
