..Farley ..still in LURVF...wit yer MX5....?..........how was it at the wee bUTT & BENS.........chocoMocco...is MY FAVE!!!!! ;)

X3 just hit 18,000 kms and love it.  Solid solid vehicle.  Comfortable, smooth, tight handling, excellent brakes, fantastic stereo, firm supportive seats, incredible headlights etc.  Good power especially at higher rpms.  Averaging a consistent 10l/100km (85% highway) which is not too bad for a heavy full time awd.  Always feel safe driving it, looking forward to winter!

Good for you Farley!

I've only managed to put 6,400 kms so far.  Looking forward to winter as well and test the performance of X-drive.  Have you got your winter tires installed already?

going back to topic, haven't driven an FX35 but a lot of factors keeps me from considering one, 2 of them being base price and level of customer service at the dealerships.  I echo snowman's point on better wagons for the same (or even less) money like 3 series touring (yeah, I know it's apples and oranges... similarity is upto cargo capacity only)

I will never understand the appeal of a car with a lift kit. Raising the center of gravity is illogical.

I test drove an FX awhile back to. I wasn't feeling the two tone cream and orange interior. The ride was bouncy because of the high profile tires, and the back seat and cargo area felt cramped.

I agree the orange is not so appealing but the black is nice :)

The color scheme of FX's interior best describes as tacky, maybe tacky colors can let you forget about Infiniti's el cheapo plastic.

I have owned 3 Infiniti vehicles (I still continue to own one). In the past the interiors on Infiniti's have been gorgeous. My J30t had a decadently luxurious interior as does the Q. When the Infiniti brand began to sell more vehicles or ran into financial issues before the Renault partnership, they stopped spending money on the interiors. Thankfully customer service is still second-to-none.

The only Infiniti that is appealing to me was the original grilleless Q45 with active suspension.

I liked the original grille-less Q with active suspension (I remember seeing the ads pictured with it taking a turn and the same turn in the Lexus LS 400). It was a quick Q-Ship!

Between then and now, I respected the QX4 as it looked pretty good to me with the cladding and amber fogs and HIDs. But was just a gussied Pathfinder.

The G20 was neat, but not all that luxurious nor powerful. Just a good handler.

Really, besides the original Q it's only been recently that I've liked the Infinitis. The G35 sedan looks good exterior-wise, I LOVE the G35 Coupe, and the new M-Series is awesome lookin' to me as well. It's a brand on the move! Today's Q they can keep tho. And the FX, while unique, is more useless to me than anything.

Agree that it was a neat looking car...  just to big for me to have wanted one.

It's funny, because the only Lexus I've ever wanted to own was the original IS - again that brand's smallest offering.  I don't like the looks of the new IS at all...

My Q is essentially the grilless Q with the grill and wood inside. I also have the super HICAS 4 wheel steering system which makes the car corner like its on rails. Other than changing by ching guides at the 8 year mark, an alternator and battery, I've never had an issue with the car. To this day, the car is as fast as stink. I suprise a lot of BMW 7 series and Mercedes S-class drivers.

Funny, I also like the first gen IS300, especially the "sportcross".

I forgot to mention I love the interior of original Q45 without wood trim. The plastic and leather quality are so high that you can forget about wood trim, that "has" to be necessary in all luxury cars. Its too bad, as Jim Kenzie said couple of times in MotoringTV. Original Q was a Japanese luxury car with Japanese samural character while LS was, and still is, a Japanese luxury car with European style. They added wood, grille, softening the suspension and make it lost the original Q's character.
