Here's the deal: I was originally going to get the Mazda6 Hatch but all the '05s with manual tranny are sold and I don't like the '06 styling refresh. Please suggest an alterative, I have 3 criterias - must be fun to drive, 4+ doors and has a low cost of ownership (i.e. reliable, insurance, gas). I'm will to spend $35k OTR (in Ontario) or ~$25k used. Suggestions please.

You expect to get $4k off No, I expect to get 5%. All rough estimates here: $32k - 5% = ~$30k ($2000 off) $30k x 1.15 (GST, PST) = ~$35k Am I being too optimistic here? Of course there's anywhere between $500-1500 for PDI/Freight, air taxes, etc. |

Jetta 2.0T I thought VWs were generally not reliable. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. |

I think that's a little optimistic, depending on what you buy, dealers make around 7% it would be tough to get 5% off. |

I'll sell you my previously enjoyed (but pampered) 2000 Audi A4 for $25K. It fits all your criteria. |

Acura RSX, Mazda6 are fun to drive, cheap to insure (at least for me), and get decent fuel mileage.
Subarus I like but they don't offer sunroof on their lower end models. |

You can always put a hole in the roof if you want. Heck, c'mon over now and I'll fire up the chainsaw. |

I would scope the Jetta 2.0T too. Cloth, roof, HIDs, and 6-spd manual or 6-spd DSG for $30-31. Leather about $33. |

Jetta 2.0T I thought VWs were generally not reliable. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. VWs not reliable? It all depends on who you speak with. My 94 Golf GTI never had any major problem. Only things I changed on the car was regular maintenance items (besides the wiper arm motor which was nothing). Has almost 200k kms on it's original alternator, waterpump, etc, etc. Plus, with the new Jetta you'll get 4 years warranty and don't forget the 200hp Turbo with 6spd tranny |

Yeah, really depends what you're after. At $28G's+ there's lots of variety.
Girl I know picked up a Charger and she loves it! I'm supposed to get a ride (and if lucky drive it) this week-end.
I think Charger's a little big and brute for what Darth is after, but it's a heck of a lot of car for reasonable money.
I'm surprised you don't like the updated 6 Sport. From photos I thought it wasn't to my liking, but in person I quite liked. It's not really a HUGE change. |

RWD + 190Hp for $28k, what's not to like except for it's size. Nearly a foot longer then the most midsizes. |
