Good Honda Dealer in BC
« on: October 07, 2005, 09:49:33 am »
Hi,

Im thinking of buying a 2005 or 2006 odyssey in BC. Kelowna is closest buy im getting the old $500 off MSRP routine. I am willing to go to Vancouver if need be. I have the dealer invoice and would be willing to pay 1000-1500 over.

Can anyone recommend a dealer that sells for a reasonable profit.

Thanks,

Kevin

I also live in Kelowna and agree that the dealers (generally) don't deal quite as much as Vancouver. Have you tried the dealer in Vernon?

I would really think it over on going to Vancouver as the hassle may not be worth the drive. Make some phone calls/emails first and see who responds. The new Ody is in demand and Honda dealers anywhere may not discount too much.

Remember, there is more to buying/owning a vehicle that a few hundred 4 on the purchase price.

You may be out of luck if you expect to get more than $500 off MSRP even in Vancouver.  Honda dealers don't usually deal all that much.  Try the APA:

Think about the time, effort, and costs for you to travel to Vancouver (maybe more than once) to make a purchase.  Maybe try a dealer closer to home.  Honda, like many japanese manufacturers, doensn't have to pay people to buy their cars.  But their cars are generally worth it.

1 more thing Kevin, if you buy from a dealer hundreds of miles away, after you have spent time dickering at your local dealer, then there comes a time where you need service, maybe looking for a loaner, some special consideration on warranty, whatever, what do you expect your local guy to do for you when you didn't support him? An Odyssey is such an easy sell to a buyer who knows what he is talking about that I am not surprised they don't want to discount much. Ask if he will do $1000 off, that is a fair compromise for everybody.
