Well it's hard to FEEL comfortable when my head is in the roof... driving the previous gen Civic really wasn't comfortable for me since, like it is the case with most cars, I had to recline my seat way too much just to clear the roof... I suspect it won't be any better with the Civic.

I totally share your pain, as I'm tallish and like to sit in an upright position. It'd be a total turnoff if I couldn't comfortably fit inside the car. Does anyone know if there is seat height adjustment in the Civic / Si? I haven't seen any mention of it in any of the literature so far, so I'm assuming there is none.

I hope those camera angles are simply unflattering.  :( :(

I was wondering about that as well.  The ubiquitous and hackneyed "ground viewpoint" shot...useful for getting to know how a car will look if you need to crawl up to it for any reason (lost your crutches, being fall-down drunk, avoiding crossfire, being dropped in a nightclub brawl, conducting covert operation, etc)...is not doing this car any favours, IMO.

If I didn't just acquire a mortgage, the EL would be on borrowed time.  No, I'm still not a fan of the digital spedometer, but the rest of the car looks good, funtional, and you just have to assume it'll outlast almost everything in the segment in longevity and fuel economy.  As it is, the EL costs me next-to-nothing in depreciation and maintenance, so it stays for now.  If I get a big raise, or the EL starts doing a Ford impersonation, it will have reason to start sweating.

All the other Civics are height adjustable (finally) so I'd hope the Si's sport seat is. But like in the VW's, maybe the sport seat doesn't go down as far.

I'll be taking a look for myself real soon.

As long as my head doesn't touch the roof, having the A-pillar and roofliner away from me really makes the car more liveable and feel more spacious.

That's good to hear. IMO, having a height adjustable seat makes the car so much easier to live with, especially when the vehicle has to be shared among multiple drivers.

I had a seat in one and found plenty of room around and above.  Relatively large trunk space too.

I dislike the droopy front look on the sedan, but the coupe looks hot.

This car will be #1 for a LONG time....  Take that, side-airbag-less MazdaCanada!

Stop printing articles about this car.  It makes me want to hit something.

I saw a new 4 door civic on the highway today...in a word it's really nothing special...
Evidently, Honda copied the new A4 tailights and the front looks like a wedge with
squinty eyed headlights. Maybe Honda should have had the Italians pen the car...
let me see Milano vs Tokyo...yeah I'll take a nice chiati over sake!

It's a civic ... not supppose to be very exciting to start with.  They want to keep all their customers happy so they can't be too radical in the design.  I'm sure tuners will jump on the coupe and try to make something with it ... cars with lots of crappy Canadien Tire parts on them and that sounds like spitfires from the second world war.  ;D

I agree that the Civic will sell very well ... a big percentage of their sales is on reputation alone.  I'm sure you could stick a Honda badge on a old Aries K  :o and tell the average joe it's the new civic and he would buy it!

word on the street is that Civic Si is slower than the RSX-S.  With a LSD and identical first 5 gears I would expect faster.  0-100 in 7.5 - 8 seconds is slow.

It doesn't really matter if it is slow. As long as it feels fast, then that's good enough. Then again, 7.5s to 100kph is nothing to brag about.

I just saw the Civic Coupe in person for the first time...  First impressions are that it seems SMALL on the outside!   Nice car though.

We could just park the original inside the '06s cabin.  Then park a few of the '06s inside an extinct Excursion.

I like the size of the new Civic - it's not meant to be a BIG car.

(I think tommy kendle or tommy carson or something is doing a bit, too bad he's a marketing whore who never critisizes)
