My 2 cents are that the Highlander is a perfect vehicle for Kelowna.  Nice highway driver, decent off road abilities, not bad on gas, comfortable space, good in snow, well built.  Best of all there is a Toyota dealership in Kelowna.

For a rural city where big trucks are common, a Highlander looks like a smart.

Shnak - the height and width of the HL are 68.3" high and 71.9" wide. I did not quote them as I do not have the comparables for the Dodge truck. I think one can safely assume that the truck is both higher and wider, don't you think?

Thanks for the information. I'll do some checking later.

Highlander is a jacked-up Camry wagon, I don't see any problem with that. ::) ::)

I'm sure it is... And that wasn't my point. I never said that the Highlander was just as big as the Dodge... all I said is that the Highlander is bigger than the average of what you see on the streets, and that alone puts you in the position, at least in my opinion, of not being able to criticize others.

I didn't intend in getting this far in this thread, if you reread my original post, it was meant as a simple question, until the sheep herd showed up.

I certainly understand that the Highlander isn't as excessive as a Dodge Ram Mega Cab as a daily driver/family hauler... But when you consider that you have said yourself many times that the RAV4 was just the perfect size for you (in all those CRV vs RAV4 threads of about a year ago) and that you wouldn't want the RAV4 to be bigger than it is, well it got my attention when you criticized others of buying what you consider to be excessive for daily drivers...

Well guess what, MY OPINION IS THAT the Highlander is also pretty excessive to be someone's daily driver when you don't have kids to carry around to hockey games or whatever.

Anyways....... that's it, I'm out.

Sheeps, go back to your barn...

Baa.

And my point was that the Dodge is larger  PROPORTIONATLY compared to my HL, than my HL is compared to your Jetta. Thus, I have as much right to critisize the Dodge without being a hypocrite as you do to critisize my HL. I suspect a smart driver might find your Jetta hard to see around also.

But this is tiresome and tedious - enough already.

Thanks for that reminder, it's not a word I use often and 3rd or 4th grade is a long time ago...  ;D

Hey, to my defense, I'm the one emitting an opinion here... and everyone else jumps on me because they seem to think that my opinion is wrong. I didn't argue with anyone's opinion in this thread.

I don't give a s**t what anybody says ... trucks are GREAT! ;D  Pickups, Jeeps, American, Japanese, big, small ... they just rock!  :drive:  They're big and tall ... sometimes there even scary!  :o  I love those things ... in the middle of a field, downtown and even when the gas is 2$ a litre.  If you can't handle driving with those things on the road ... take the bus or stay home.  :)  I agree that some people can't drive those things ... but it's the same story with any vehicle.  There's always tons of space, half the time the box is empty and they're indestructible.   I saw a GMC being rear-ended by a confused 20 something girl who thought the street was racing track ... her brand new 2-door Civic was a total loss and the truck had a scratch or two on the bumper!  ;D

Trucks rulz! ... even with all their flaws (like being a Ford lol) their great!

Someone... just submit, wouldja?!

This truck is HUGE! I know someone with a Dakota Quad Cab who said he likes the Rams, but not the Quad - the rear doors look too squashed/short, and I'd have to agree with him. He said he likes the look of this one, and I did too, except when I opened the CD photos and noticed just how big and wide that windowless D-pillar is. It's ungainly in it's own right!

I sure hope the Mega Cab isn't as popular as the Quad, but who knows with people's mentality.

I don't think enough people realize the new Ram is all-new. Biggest gripe in most comparisons is the poor ride and some hard interior bits - the new Ram line is supposed to ride much nicer, so comparisons will be interesting.
