Looks down right scary.  The biggest of all pick-ups to be had by construction company owners galore.  It combines many things into one:   midsize SUV interior, fullsize truck bed, monster ground clearance, and financial support to the major oil companies.

I hope to see this truck being used in the country, off-road, and for the building sites.  I hope I don't see this truck clogging up downtown stalls, school yard loading zones, or emptying my local gas station.  Dirt, snow, mud please apply:  Spinners need not.

I hate to see this truck parks in tight "small car" spot outside a shopping mall. :-X :-X

I'd hate to see one try to park in a regular spot at the mall

Like many on here, this kind of vehicle is not my taste at all. In fact, although I know they have valid uses in construction, oil fields, etc. I hate to see these monster ppl carrying trucks built as they clog up parking lots, are hard as hell to see around, often harder to get by in the city, and just generally :censor: me off. It's too bad they couldn't be restricted licencing to keep them where they belong; otherwise, sure as anything, they will show up in the local restaurant parking lot.

Someday, ppl in NA are going to have to learn to make do with smaller "haulers". Just not for a while yet, I fear.

Ford is supposedly coming with new Expidition that is substantially larger than the one it replaces. This HAS to stop.

I'd hate to see someone try to park this truck in a large spot.

I'd love to see somone try to parallel park.

One detail Grant left out: overall length 6.3 meters

and have you seen the size of it's rear doors?  If one of these is parked next to you, the door won't just ding you but rather smash out your side window!

Many crew cab and dually drivers really pissed me off when they pushed you out of a tight driveway in a parking lot. They never thought these trucks have huge turning radius and crumsy dynamics. :-\ :-\

Aw come on guys, I might want to haul my boat once a year. I'll need a truck like this, and once I have it, I might as well use it as my dayly driver. Besides, it give ME great visibility in traffic.  :P :P :(

NO one has noted this yet, but I wonder if Grant had the picture taken in front of the tank on purpose??

If so, nice and subtle, love it... ;D >:D

I seriously think the cruise ship I was on a few years ago was smaller than this thing.  It looks like a monster truck on small wheels.  Not sure why something this large and cumbersome doesn't require a training course on how to manouver it around town.  Probably doesn't fit in a regular sized garage, drive throughs would be a 3 point turn and the automatic touchless car washes would have trouble covering this much vehicle.  Underground parking would be a no-no, you'd probably have to pay for 2 meter spots when parked downtown, and you'd make a Hummer H1 look like an midsized SUV.

 :iagree:

in fact if so many people are insisting on using them as daily driver to go shopping, give them their own parking lot..... about a mile away from everyone else  ;D

...says the guy with the mid-size SUV with no kids living with him...  ::)  Aren't you a little hypocrite to say something like that?

A V6 Highlander cannot be compared with a HEMI powered full size pickup truck.  I see many full size 4x4 extended cab pickups being used as the family hauler, simply because dad thinks he needs a truck and is not confident in his masculinity to see himself driving a minivan.   :D

I'm saying that it is as bad as driving a full size pickup truck as your family hauler... but please people, don't attack others for driving big vehicles when you drive a V6 Highlander (or V6 ANYTHING for that matter), especially when you don't have any kids at home and a smart fortwo would essentially suit your needs...

You don't know Ovr personally, so how could you determine what vehicle suits his needs?  What if Ovr had the Highlander hybrid...would you still consider him a hypocrite?  :banghead:

Because he had a RAV4 before the Highlander and he has often said that the RAV4 was more than big enough for his needs/wants.

What's the difference between driving a Highlander Hybrid, a regular Highlander, a Dodge Ram Hemi and a Silverado Hybrid when all you need is a Civic? There isn't much of a difference in my opinion, you're still driving a vehicle too big for what you need.

Why don't you let ovr explain himself and leave the thread then... I'm sure he's more than capable of doing that himself.
