Topic: Da most stolen car

okay, so, i posted my first post and nobody replied except one.  got this question, debated a friend about it... the most stolen car.  he said in general honda is the most stolen car.  i thought it is toyota.  i googled this googled that, no clear verdict.

what really is the most stolen car?

btw, i am still debating with myself 'bout matrix or mazda3 sport.  this is why the topic most stolen car came onto the slate.  i live in mississauga, i work near downtown t.o., i take the bus and GO train.  is it safe to park a new average price car, say matrix or m3, at the GO train station?

so many security gadgets these days but when mr. carthief really wanted your ride he can take it at will.  do we stand a chance?

I believe the most stolen car changes every year. And it also depends on the country you live in. There is a website where you can go to check, and im sure someone will post it. As far as I know, the most stolen vehilces of recent memory are the Honda Civic, Honda Prelude, Acura Integra and the Jeep TJ.

In general the Honda Civic, especially the Civic Si, is the most stolen vehicle in Canada.  Many of the Toyotas are also popular targets for theft (though perhaps not surprisingly the unpopular 4 door Echo Sedan is one of the least stolen vehicles).  I'd imagine both the Matrix and Mazda3 are popular targets as well.  There's not much you can do about that, other than install a good theft deterrent.  If you get one that's IBC-approved, your insurance rates may go down.  More info here:

A useless STAT..the only stolen car I would care about is mine..does ANYONE NOT buy a car beacuase IT may get stolen DUH.....I'd be more worried about my mega bucks Luxmobile heading off to Brazil OR Romania from my driveway,than my Trib,Accord or whatever OLD flavour easy to steal 10 year old car that is a joyriders wet dream......

A different take on the list of "most stolen" Even the hardly seen Suzuki Aerio makes the #14 spot. I think every city,province,country,insurance company have they own unique lists.

But this list is American. Different cars, different culture. I do suspect though, that the figures are different for Vancouver, Toronto, and Moose Jaw.

Funny how in the US many of the most stolen vehicles are domestics, whereas here domestics have below-average theft rates.
