If it comes with the V8 Turbodiesel I will sell my soul for one!
I don't have output numbers but I think somewhere near 400 ft/lbs

OK I found the output numbers:

322 HP and 479 ft/lbs between 1600 and 3500 rpm. :o

I better start saving.

V8 diesel is overpowered, but not gas-guzzling.

Oh it will have the capacity to burn a lot of desiel... just far less compared to a relative gasoline engine.

Ummm  it is a 5 seater close in size to the current All Road.  ??? Not my definition of oversized. Gets about 9L/100km.

If I had the money I would consider one for sure.  But stick that engine in the Passat Wagon with AWD as I don't need the extra ground clearance of the 'Allroad'.  I just keep re-reading that tq number and it sends shivers down my spine.  It about the same mileage I get now but with over twice the tq!   :)
A subwoofer should only be noticed once it has been turned off.

I was thinking it would make a perfect garage mate to my current Passat wagon. I have been hoping for a TDI, 4 mo,  6sp manual version of the new Passat but I doubt they will be shipped in that configuration. :'(

$50K.... hmm, I'd have a hard look at a Legacy GT wagon. Or even a used V70R for $50K. It would be a tough decision to decide between all three.

That's probably $50K US.  Think more of ~$70K and up in Canada.  That's a V70R.  That's a BMW 5 wagon.

I am sure it was $US. A V70R is about $65k CAN.  That is my number one pet peeve. A car that lists in the US at $50k Will be over $70 CAN. With the current exchange rate of around 1.2 it should be $60k >:(

Our neighbours pay $55k for TDI Touaregs. While in Canada VW was trying to push them out the door for close to $100k.????

Perhaps I should be looking south of the border for a year old Touareg.
