What's my 1995 Civic Si Worth?
« on: September 07, 2005, 12:42:23 am »
Hello all, I'm just wonderin' what a 1995 Civic Si w/160,000 km,pwr moonroof,mirrors,cruise,5spd,tinted windows, rear spoiler and decent sound system w/ 6disc CD changer and NO accidents (just the odd repaired scrap/scratch) is worth? I have receipts for the maintenance. Black book on Daimler Chrysler,BCAA and Toyota websites now only go as far back as 1996.I've checked local Buy and Sell and AutoTrader and prices are varied and not very consistent.I've seen as high as $9000.00 to as low as mid 4's.Anyone using this forum have access to a Black Book? I've read some posts/replies by I think someone who used to be in the business (Honda) if memory serves.Any help suggestions is GREATLY APPRECIATED as I want to use it as a trade in but don't want to get hosed by the dealership.Thanks. ??? Thanks articsteve and sterling.BTW car has no rust and no A/C.

Your car is not worth anything to a dealer really.  They don't want it so you are going to get some really bad quotes.  In the world of wholesale it is a 2K car "as is".  You didn't mention AC or any possible rust spots on the fenders and trunk lid.

Personally I think your car sounds good and would make someone a very good used car @ $4500. private sale.

Black Book wholesale value for a 95 Si is $4300-$5750. Everything that a dealer would do to resell it must be deducted from this (tires, windshield, inspection, cleaning, etc.) Mileage is good for the year. You'll have to make a determination of its overall condition.

I would start reading the autotrader on your car to see what the other folks are asking for theirs. Sounds like a nice car still in good shape with a whole lot  left in it for another owner. If you can't get a good trade-in price then be prepared to sell it private and buy with no trade-in. You might just do a even better deal this way. Even some of the domestics are building very good cars now so theres lots of brands to choose from when you replace it.  :)

I agree. Sell it privately. It is in your best interest to do so. I'd say you could get 5 grand for it easy. Honda's (especially civics) hold their value fairly well.
