hey guys, thanks for all the replies!!!

he's also looked into buying an RSX but I think he's leaning more towards the eclipse. I do not like mitsubishi cars that much... I know they're in trouble with money and because of some problems they had with other vehicles, but hey, his heart is set and I guess it doesn't matter what i say  :( but I just want him to get the best price he can for it so than he can spend the money he saved on me!!!!!!  :P lol just kidding... and the 10 year warranty on the car doesn't sound so bad either.

Has anyone seen the residuals on the Eclipse? They're insanely low. I'm not so sure you'll manage to negotiate a large discount as this is the vehicle Mitsu has pinned its immediate future on. If you're getting the GT model..watch out for torque steer..I'd have to say that it's just about the worst case of torque steer I have ever seen. Sorry to be a party pooper.

elipse resale is not tremendously low.  it's just lower than toyota and honda, similar to most other makes.

i would like to go check out the new eclipse too, how is the interior?  i'll like to get rid of my older car in 2 yrs when more warranty expires.

my power window is broken, and it's being held up by tape  :o

I have a question:
What happens if you lease a Mitsubishi and they decide to pull away frrm the North american Market (or just the canadian one). Where do you return your car to? I suppose they'd leave the financial arm active to gather the money, but if they do not honour the warranty issues, why should you have to pay your obligations? Maybe I should lease a Mitsu, it could become a free ride, even if nobody was there to fix it!    ??? ;D
