Is that dog puke on the front of your shirt, Wet One?

Good-looking car.  More charming than the new ones.

You sure know how to put a smile on my face Brig.  LOL.  Puppy wasn't alive when this pic was taken.  It's at the cottage though!

I claim false advertising! That's not an old Mini! This is ME and my old Mini Cooper:

Retired, married, and loving it

Sorry about the terrible quality, but the picture was taken 35 years ago on a very cheap camera. The car is an 1969 Austin Mini Cooper. I'm with my baby sister (who is now 52  :-X). Now THAT'S a mini!  ;D

Wow AVToller... that thing sure is small!  It must have had 10 inch wheels? I'll bet it was a fun car to drive!  I miss my Mini sometimes... just not the trouble it came with.  I may consider another one in the near future.

Good eye! Yes it had 10" wheels, was 10' 1/4" long, weighed 1485 lbs., and handled like nothing else at the time. The war stories (involving idiotic driving) I could tell! Fortunately, I won't tell them.  ;D

;D I was almost 6'2" then - my sis 5'2". I'm now shorter and, well, not quite so svelte.  :( The green and white was always my favourite.

I also owned an old Mini (1967).  I like the green with a white roof combo.  This spring, at the Vintage Races (Mission Raceway/track) I came across a pristine Morris Cooper S (don't know what year it was).  It was the same green/whilte colour combo.  The car was absolutely stock and in showroom condition.

I learnt to drive in a 1960 850cc mini with the lonnnnng gear lever and the pull straps to open the doors..  All the usual war stories of course.    BRG was the best colour.

tires 5.20 x 10 on 4"wide wheels dunlop C41 cross plys  with sp41 on coopers . The front tires lasted about 10,000 miles even with only 34 bhp and 1485 lbs.  they used 20-50 treacle oil which the gearbox turned into something else very quickly
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I replaced the Dunlops with Pirellis radials - made a world of difference! Of course I needed the better rubber since I had 55 horses!  ;D

I don't know about the others, but yes, I remember when dirt was invented. :iagree:
