Sorry Shnak, but all the models you mentioned above need to be proven and the Jetta is no exception.  Don't get me wrong I always liked the looks of a Jetta, driving dynamics etc.  but like many I wished it was more reliable.

Yeah ok, the Jetta needs to prove its reliability... but I think we can say that there won't be many problems with the new Sonata... the previous Sonata wasn't deemed to be the most reliable vehicle for nothing. And the Accord doesn't have anything to prove either.

G6? yes. Jetta? yes. Fusion? DEFINITELY! I'd have the most confidence in the new Jetta out of those, but that's just me...  ;)

All of this really only matters if you really believe in JDP ratings, which I don't.  For that matter some cars might be better than we think once we really know what 200 problem per 100 really means.  This subject has been beaten to  death and I'm outa here. :)

I went for G6.  I'm really satisfied and happy, though I can't say the same for my family.  They are more bent on Japanese cars.  My sister is still driving my dad's 10+ yr old Camry.  My dad now drives a 2004 Avalon.  My kid bro is contemplating on Matrix and Mazda3.

Thanks to all of you.

You should have told me that back in 1976 when I bought my 1st and only Japanese car. It was a total POS from the ground up and didn't last a full year before it was in the wreckers with unrepairable rust damage. I am sure you will enjoy the Pontiac G6 for many years as the 3.5 engine is not a 1st year issue at all. Its been out for a no. of years already, Very well proven engine for almost 10 years now in certain models. Pics Please when you get it if you will.  :)

Congratulations on the new car purchase. :skid:

Really, for the features, engine, and what really is excellent fuel economy out of that 3.5L you're getting one heck of a car for the price. The kicker is the looks for me - I REALLY like the stance and short trunk lid. Not so vanilla. I don't like the way the front and rear pillars eat into head room and make it feel smaller than it is, but otherwise I really like the G6. Great car :)

Congrats on your new vehicle.  You'll have to provide us with your impressions after a few months of driving it.  My next car may just be the G6 coupe.
