I'll have to see the size in the flesh. I think it's much larger than it appears. In photos I get the idea that the front looks a little narrow and Liberty-ish, as in lower priced than it is (starts at $40 or so), but in person I think I'll really get a better feel for it's size, and it'll appear to be a hole lot better. I like the boxiness and the rear a lot, and the interior.

The last thing I drove that square was a Maytag box back in ’65.

According to Chrysler, the Commander "pays homage" to the square Cherokee. A vehicle that was built like a tank, was incerdibly durable and simply wouldn't die (I owned one). I don't know why DC got rid of it in the first place. Sales where still strong. They replaced it with the underpowered Liberty. According to marketing studies. Previouusly loyal Jeep owners instead of buying the Liberty as a replacement to their Cherokee either switched to other manufacturers or are still hanging on to their Cherokees.

What's that?  A 40 degree descent?  The irony is many of these won't see anything steeper in their lives than Yonge St. at York Mills.

The only offroading will be when the Jeep slides into the ditch.  (Overconfidence brought on by having a four wheel drive vehicle, and not having snow tires)... :P

I don't like the interior as much as in photos. Also, that 3rd row seat really takes up a large chunk of rear view vision - surprisingly so. Overall like the exterior look tho, and the little features they tried.
