Every car I have had for the last 15 years has had a remote starter on it. Nice luxury to have. Even won a new starter yesterday in a golf tourny. So even my next car will have a remote starter.
Enjoying the Alberta advantage

My remote starter fixes me eggs over easy, bangers and a stack of flapjacks...then all it needs is an encouraging wave while I sip my StarBucks by the window...none of these new fangaled garage thinggies fer me makes 'em too soft....!!!!
THERE IS NO CURE FOR "LOTUS"......ONLY TREATMENT.....

I'll have one installed in the Subaru.  Though I rarely use it in the city, it has one incredible use that I would have a tough time living without now:

Cold Temperature Start.

This feature allows you to set the starter so that it will start the car at regular intervals (usually 2-4 hours) depending on the ambient temperature.  For those of us that might leave a car at a trailhead in the dead of winter for days, this feature is a LIFE SAVER.  Literally!  We've come out of the backcountry in -40C and had the car start despite no plug-in for 3 days or more.

And for that feature alone, I will install one in the Subaru.  Can't be done in the Mercedes thanks to the factory security.  And yes, I know about bypass systems, but they don't work on the Mercedes SmartKey.
No place I'd rather be...

Saf - there is actually a lot of industry in AB (steel pipe, oilfield equipment, oil refining, fertilizer, farm machinery, etc), 'course I don't know what you Easterners classify as "Industry". Bitching about how tough you have it these days and casting covetous eyes on ABs petro-dollars seems to be the new "Eastern Industry".

Shades of the old NEP and poor Ontario again.

Thanks, guys!  My net access is cut off already at my old job.  I might now be on here very much until after the move.  Wish me luck!
Suck, squeeze, bang, blow - who wouldn't love the internal combustion engine?  ;D
