With kids that young, I think leather would be good, because it's easier to clean.  It's tough to get some of those unidentifiable globs of crud out of the cloth....BUT:  you'll want to put something under the carseat, so it doesn't tear hell out of the leather.

The feedback on this had me a little concerned after spending months trying to find a Honda CR-V with leather (the top of the line model)....but I think the verdict is in favour. Myself, I wanted it because compared to new, I could get a used loaded leather-clad CR-V for only about $1000 more than the base model. New, it's more like a $5000 difference. I also have a toddler, so I knew it was convenient for the potential spills. I've also never had leather in any of my cars - so I wanted to treat myself, as it is typically a luxury option. Hope it was worth the risks. [and the burnt bum!]

We had leather in most of our vehicles. I agree that they are easy to clean especially with young children. Not that the children are older it is not an issue anymore; my children were well behaved anyways.

Personally I would not get leather in a performance car…..much too slippery in hard cornering conditions.

Slightly OT, my sis in law has a 6GT with leather.  She notices some kind of scratch on the back seat, like maybe a ladies ring would do, she shows it to the dealer to see what they think.  She ends up with a new seat under warranty! I couln't believe it.

I have tan leather with seat heaters and it is fine in the cold and, to my surprise, ok in the heat.  the black leather steering wheel is nasty on a sunny day tho'

the leather problem is that it is slippery anyway and even worse when it has just had treatment applied

I just treated the leather in my car and it grips me like glue.  I think seat design has a lot to do with grip etc....  Leather seats saved the day when my dog puked across the back seat.  Clean up was a snap.

I have grey leather in my 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 Premium.  I love the leather.....the seats are heated, great because I live in Northern Ontario.  And, I've never had a problem with them in the summer, I have tinted windows and the interior of the car stays relatively cool.
Leather, much easier to clean, looks better and is much more comfortable than cloth, IMO.  Ford's choice of leather grade has always been good and above the norn.  Very durable, looks good too!

..the Leather seats are great!
..kudos to Honda for putting decent leather in the CR-V.
It's 3 yrs old (a 2002 model) and I'd like to maintain the quality/durability of the leather.
I've also heard that with repeated seasonal temperatures, the leather may "dry out" over time.

I'm looking to get a leather conditioner and cleaner. Just not sure if what Honda Canada provides is good enough.

Can anyone provide some advice on a great quality leather conditioner/cleaner for my car seats?
Is Honda's product adequate?
