My niece was putting her makeup on in my car and the little puke got mascara on the sun visor which of course has to be light grey.  Anyone have any ideas on how to get it out with out it smearing all over the place?  I haven't tried yet because I wanted to get opnions first.

First it was the dog and now it's the kids. You were meant to travel alone.

Soap and water first to make sure it is safe and then if nasty you might have to try some carpet spot remover.

I'm thinking I should just vacuum pack and mothball the thing until the lease is up.  LOL.  I will try your suggestion.  This time the dog didn't come with me to the cottage.

You might want to try drycleaning solution.  I have got it from carpet cleaners but it might be available in stores.

Thewetson becareful as most nasty things like spills come in 3's. Hope it dosen't happen to you but be prepared just in case. Possibly a bit of liquid dish soap on a moist sponge may remove it. I am sure your niece didn't mean to cause this problem on purpose so I wouldn't get too upset as nobody's car ever stays clean forever. What do ladies use to remove this type of thing maybe on a sponge as well. I would call a detail shop and ask them on the phone for help. Most places are very good this way and will advise you correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion Barrie1.  Not to worry.  I know it wasn't intentional and I'm not upset with her.  "Little puke" is used as a term of endearment.  Life happens.

I wonder what the third is going to be.  So far I've contended with Dog puke and mascara.  Hmmm.  I hope the third one is a good one!  Maybe in the back seat!  :-)

Didn't the dog puke twice? If so, that might bring the total to three - it could be clear sailing from here on out.

He actually puked 3 times!  I count the multiple pukings as one.  :-)  I used Shout carpet cleaner and no smell!

Yowie I hope not, hope he dosen't have little kiddies in diapers in his car soon and 1 of them springs a leak of something else bad like that. That would be the Crowning touch in my mind.

Maybe it wasn't my niece that put the mascara on my visor.  Maybe it was SirA's alter-ego "giggling asian schoolgirl".  :-)

I've heard that the Motormaster hand washing stuff sold in the Automotice dept. at Canadian Tire is great for taking stains out of clothing...  maybe it'll do the trick?

I dunno fellas, with SirA recently revealing his inner Asian schoolgirl, I'm beginning to doubt this "It was my niece's mascara" story...

I know I'm not the only nelly one around here...

I think I'm late for the party, but...

Is there a lot on there, or just a smudge?  Mascara can be pretty gloppy, and is very highly pigmented.  Do not rub this stain.  Do not use soap and water.

I would use a solvent-based spot cleaner, and dab with a paper towel, or something very absorbent.  The only issue I see here is that the sun visor is a vertical surface, so you're really going to have to make sure the solution is soaking in somehow.

Next time, do it in the bathroom like the rest of us, Wet One.

I don't think I'd know what to do with a mascara brush.  I probably end up putting it on my nostril hairs or something like that.
