HSG, I will verify this with the salesguy again when I decide to take him up on his offer.  Infact, I had him do the number crunching including providing me with the monthly payment -financed at the 3.9% rate.
Now, I hope he was not just BSing me and that it will be a totally different price once I start the buy process - your thoughts.

FYI, he also claimed to throw in the mats, mudguards and the lock nuts.  So, your opinion is appreciated and I best just go and take him up on his offer and report back - I hope I am not wrong!

cheers

p.s I an only now think about the looks of the coupe any comments on 4 door vs 2 door?

I bet the sales didn't calculate the tax.

When getting a new vehicle quote, it's not always enough to ask for an "on-the-road" price.  I've found I had to ask for the quote to include "purchase price, freight, PDI, admin, gas and air tax, licencing fees, all other fees, plus PST and GST".  It's a mouthful, but if you do that, you MAY get the real dollar figure.

Hey, Jim, I'd say go for the 2-dr if looks is more important to you.  But, if you have someone pregnant or arthritic to take the back seat often, sedan is more practical.  In my case, the back seat would be just for occassional use.  BTW, I am also in the negotiating phase (for an lx-g coupe).  Mind sharing notes?  Can you really get an ex-l for $32K?  Folks here seem to find that not quite believable.

Saltedegg, I went by the dealership today and saw a great looking coupe with a spoiler on the back-what a difference it made on the look.

FYI, I am going this week to see if I can score the deal will let you know - if it holds true, I will gladly share the info with you.

To all the rest, the quote did factor in all costs as stated listed by Cphansen.  I guess I will just have to sign a contract to find out.

cheers

When I bought mine it included mats.  The salesguy gave me the locking nuts the day I came to pick up the car.  No charge of course.  I wasn't expecting it so it was a pleasent surprise.

Mats are in the car from the factory. Locking wheel nuts are not but they are only a $50 item. So as long as you didn't grind the salesman to the point where there was nothing left, getting the locks for free is never usually an issue.

Lickie STILL won't get the car for $32K all in...

Saltedegg - sorry about the dealy, I just came back from ther dealership an tried to close the deal for $32K.  Guess what-it was not to be.  The best I could do was $33090 all in but they did not have a black one in their inventory.
They would only do a search if I put down a deposit.  I was ready to buy at that price but they certainly did not seem to want to close the deal - I guess in our favour.

We then started talking about the 2006's and we've decided to wait until they're in and also look at the new civic.  I like the new redesign back on the Accord.  Will update in a few weeks.  How are you making out?

Surprisingly, the saleguy was not pushing the 05's???????

cheers

p.s an apology to all the knowlegeable guys out there that were convinced that $32K was not going to happend - you were right!!!!!!!!!!!

When I post something telling you what cost is and what you should be able to get a car for, I'm not shiteing you...

Nobody has a lot of 2005 Accord Sedans left so they aren't so interested in blowing one out for cost or close to it... not when we have 5 weeks left before we get any 2006s in...

Do you realize that with a $400 price increase, (educated guess) and no $1350 credit on the 2006 Accord, that you will be looking at $36,750 or thereabouts after tax? Why wouldn't you just get the 2005 at $33K and consider it a good deal??? At that price the dealer is only holding $650 gross profit on a $30,000 car...works out to 2.1%

You won't pay $1000 more than your earlier (hoped for and impossible to obtain) price, but you will pay $4750 more for a 2006???

Ya that makes sense...

even worse.  the salesman said it's hard to find an lx-g coupe now, and he was stiff at $30K.  like your salesman, he's not moving a finger to find me one unless i putdown a deposit.
hsg is reliable, and he's right, when the 2006s come you ain't getting your incentive, so you end up paying 4K-ish more.
any folks here know any dealership around toronto, mississauga or oakville with grey lx-g coupe on the lot?

don't know what car you are talking about salty, LX-G Coupe 5 speed manual or automatic? On an Automatic the car would only be $30,143.50 on the road with the $2350 credit factored in, at full list. So he will be able to buy an LX-G Coupe for less than this, much less if it is a manual.

But an EX-L Coupe 5 speed manual would come to $32,903.25 so this would still end up OVER $30K even with discount...somewhere around $31,200 I would guess.
