Nice buy.  Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the new wheels.  As for OEM rims, consider some aftermarket rims (they are available and a tire/rim expert can easily let you know which one will work) as aftermarket can at times be cheaper and lighter.  Some say they may even look better.

MDX,
I know what you mean. I'm looking at an aftermarket set that look really nice. 16X7 (just a bit wider than OEM). Bolt pattern 5X114.3 which is just a bit off of OEM (5X115), but the seller assures me that it will fit.

Other option is a set of OEM 17's that came off of a Limited. In this case I will have to buy some new summer tires next year.

Any suggestions? ???

My choice would be the OEMs from the Limited. You KNOW the fit will be correct that way, and I'm assuming you're not paying retail for these. Use your Base HL wheels for winter, and buy good summers for the Limited wheels.

Thanks Ovr.

The aftermarkets are real nice, while the OEM's are blah! :P Your 16's are lots nicer than the 17's IMHO.

Let's see what I can get the 17's for, and go from there.

Zee - Darn, you're right, I forgot those are the boring looking 17" wheels off the current Limited. Yes, my 16" alloy OEMs are nicer than the 17"s. I take back my advise then - maybe try to find a set of the 16" alloy OEMs then or go the aftermarket route (but be very careful about sizing and don't take some wheel seller's word that - "oh, ya, they'll fit". ).

Ovr,
Whacha think of these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7998727083&sspagename=ADME

$95US to get them here. Around $600 CDN total.

I'll also look around locally for something the same, but I don't think I will be able to match the price.

Zee - the seller does NOT include Highlander in his list of wehicles they will fit. I like the looks of them - BUT it is critical that they fit correctly (messes up the VSC otherwise IIRC). Double check that the bolt pattern and offset will work B4 committing to them.

I might be inclined to dig deeper locally so that they can be returned or exchanged if there is a problem. Sorry, I'm probably over-sensitive to the size issue. That's a bunch of $ to spend if they turn out not to be right and the seller will say "I didn't say they would fit a HL".

Just my feelings.

Ovr,
I contacted the seller, and he stated unequivically that they fit the highlander. I will pursue it with him some more in the area of " are they capable of handling the weight, and the occasional off road use I will put the HL through". Might even ask for a brochure/listing from the manufacturer where it is stated that they fit the HL.

BTW, I went looking locally, and not much is available. the same TR motorsport (5 spoke) that TT might be able to deliver; they are about $200 all in here.

They are nice though, as you stated. ;D
