Summer Tires for RSX Premium

Was thinking Yoko ES100, quoted $840 tax inc mounted.  A little pricey.  Does anyone have recommendation for a set of comparable that's less expensive?  Thanks.

Kumho and Hankook generally win in terms of bang for buck.  You could also check out these Sumitomos: http://www.tiretrends.com/catalog2.php3?tireID=330

I run ES100's on my s2000.  Great tire, and one of the cheapest "flagship" UHP tires out there.

840 mounted is a very good price.  I paid 500 for 2 only, unmounted.  They were different sizes though

Had them on my other car as well.  They were $600 tax inc mounted on 15".  But now they are $840 tax inc mounted on 16", why the big jump?

Falken FK451 would be a similar recommendation.  Been quite happy with them on the Bimmer.

15" vs. 16" is one thing but you're probably talking about a lower profile as well on your RSX, so there's your price differential.  It's getting late enough in the season that if you can hold out for a bit longer, you might get a really sweet deal somewhere.  Tiretrends has end-of-season clearouts for example.  But don't take any chances if your existing tires are really bad.

I had some experience with the ES100 on my previous car, 1998 Honda Prelude SH.

They were great handling tires but after a few thousand KM, they became noisy.  Furthermore, all 4 of them worn unevenly.  I did check the alignment and tires pressures in a regular basis.
