Esso at Bermondsey / Eglinton and the one at Coxwell/O'Connor lowers their prices considerably at night.  I usually wait until about 10pm to go and fill up.  Save .05 - .06 a litre.

The Esso in Ajax was showing "00.00" in the morning and was closed for whatever reason.

Then 91.8 last night around 9:30p after work.

Then 82.9 around 11:30pm when I was coming home again. HUGE line-up out the parking lot. No wonder.

And back up into the 90's this morning.

I've got about 2000 km of driving to do in the next week. Can't wait to pay some of these prices I'm hearing about. Here in London the pattern of prices at the pump is that they're the highest in the morning, then decrease throughout the day and are generally 4-5 cents less per litre by evening. Yesterday we started at 97.7 and it was down to 93.6 by 9 pm. Then this morning right back up to 97.3.

Could be due to all those government vehicles running on hot air, which of course is locally produced.

Damnation...$1.094 in Montreal (NDG).

Analysts were right - once consumers got used to seeing gas climb over the psychological barrier of buck a litre, watch out. I heard one industry analyst insist prices will shoot to an average of $1.25 / L by Christmas. Starting to look like he could be right...

I'm still laughing all the way to the bank when I see Toronto gas prices.

UK petrol prices have hit an all-time high. Avergare price per litre of regular unleaded: Canadian $1.95.

Ha ha ha, at last someone talking some sense, I think...

Stop all ya whinging about $1 a litre, I currently burn fuel at $2 per litre, and seeing as my commute is 80 miles a day at the moment, that is about $600 a month!

The UK a metric country??
Sure and the Brits are going to do like the rest of Europe and use the Euro and drive on the right side of the road!
No they don't use the metric system as far as distances are concerned unless they changed it recently (or I was really confused last time I went there )

Reg 108.9

Highest of any urban area in Canada? By no means am I complaining.  Not complaining how Victoria has no gas competition, not complaining how those south of the border pay fractions of what we do, not complaining how the price will only go up.  This is the future, must pay to play.

106.9 for 87
109.9 for 89

Some things rarely change - like gas prices in Port Alberni. Still 95.9.

"those south of the border pay fractions of what we do, ...."

Well, since I paid anywhere from $2.60 to $2.98 US per US gal in Northern Calif. 2 weeks ago, I'd say the fractions are very close to about 80% or so.

"This is the future, must pay to play."

Yep to that.

Snivelling about lack of competition (which is bogus - there is competition, it's just that all the players adjust their prices to the same as they see across the street so they don't lose customers) and high prices is useless. It is what is - $64US bbl crude has a result and higher prices is that result.

As Bob Defly in the UK, says "get used to it". They pay double or more our prices.

Edit - actually at $2.95 US per US gal is about $4.50 Cdn per Cdn gal. At 4.5L = 1 Cdn gal. the prices are even.
