Well, since I paid anywhere from $2.60 to $2.98 US per US gal in Northern Calif. 2 weeks ago, I'd say the fractions are very close to about 80% or so.

Snivelling about lack of competition (which is bogus - there is competition, it's just that all the players adjust their prices to the same as they see across the street so they don't lose customers) and high prices is useless. It is what is - $64US bbl crude has a result and higher prices is that result.
As Bob Defly in the UK, says "get used to it". They pay double or more our prices.
Edit - actually at $2.95 US per US gal is about $4.50 Cdn per Cdn gal. At 4.5L = 1 Cdn gal. the prices are even.
