I used to own 95 grand cherokee limited v8
horrible car! need to fix it everyday.
it starts to leaking and breakdown after 8 years of driving.
i bought it new though
if you want to empty your pocket go ahead
but hope you think twice

don't get it or get it with newer or lower km

It started to LEAK after 8 years....but required fixing EVERYDAY

A friend of mine has a GC Limited V8 of that vintage.  After a new tranny and numerous engine fixes....it runs again.  That was the last of the $$$ he was putting into it....it's got 270K on it...and it creaks and rattles like it's held together by the dirt.

If you want a Jeep, a newer one (previous generation) with less mileage might be a better choice but it might be more than your budget.

I had a 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L for 5.5 year / 130K Km. Besides a leaking axle output shaft and an overhead console going funky when the Jeep was parked in the sun, all repaired under warranty, I had not other problems than a squeeling fan belt in wet conditions. Never had an issue with Selec Trac transfer case. Fuel economy was as bad as the V8 except on exclusive Highway driving. But it drives and feels significantly more truckish than the newer GC (1999+). I would avoid the The 1999 GC... 2002-2004 GC have better reliability IMO... and better interior/dash as well.
