I don't think the lancer ES has a fuel filter

It must have one.

According to the manual, there's a pic showing it and also mentions how to check the COLD/HOT level. I will check for it tomm morning.

Good, then you should be able to change the pan fluid yourself.  Hopefully it has a drain plug.  If not it will be messy.

f you're putting new front pads on... get the Monroe Premiums.
- Yup most likely i will get those or the ceramic type

Very little offered for that car; only Metal Master that I could see  Go with dealer pads.

Barrie: I would wait until at least 100,000 klms to change the spark plug wires"
- I decided to change them at 50,000km before i read your post.

Take Barrie's advise.  Have you priced a set of wires.  They will be good to at least 100,000 km

With regards to the CTC parts look up...  I know.  Its a special pain when we start get into cars that where released under several names, but we only have it as one in our computer...

I'm not sure on the Lancer, but I know the older Eclipse (2000 and ealier, iirc) where released in Canada as Eagle Talon and Plymoth Laser...  is the Lancer a similar case?  Or, does it share an engine with another car that would be in the computer?

The annoying thing about this, Mikron, is that if Mitsu had forced the EVO past the Cdn regs by fiddling with the bumper and intercooler positions or whatever they had to do... there would by now by some Mitsu specilists around and more parts available
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Some of the more unusual parts like the larger brake rotors or drums may be available thru a Race Shop parts dealer. They carry a lot of specialized parts for this type of application or have access to them. I doubt they will be cheap but I am sure you will find them thru these type of dealers.

Arcticsteve:Mikron: EBC green are available for 03/04 Lancer with 2.4 litre.

I have visited their websites and they listed Perfectbrakes.com as their Cdn distributor..altho on Perfectvrakes.com site, its US based and prices are in USD. I searched all nite and found only 2 US stores that had it. Then i gave up on EBC and tried to get AXXIS Ultimate brake pads. Upon locating a Cdn distributer for AXXIS, i came accross that same store selling EBC greenpad lol.
So yah, i managed to find one..located in Mississauga..(long drive). Here's the link if any1 else is interested:

Part # DP21678

Also, the other day u mentioned about AKEBONO, they only have it for the Sportsback 04 ( 2.4L) model (OE ..not aftermarket), not for my ES 04 ( 2.0L) model. I have tried emailing them if they were compatible or not for my car..and till today they haven't replied.. So that's outta my list.

I am gonna give JRP a call on monday and see if they have it in stock and get it. Looks like i need to get this done quickly. Just recently i noticed, like, if the car is moving about 3-10km/hr and I apply the brakes, it will squeal b4 it comes to a full stop. Braking at anything higher than 15-20+km/hr, it won't squeal.

Also, an update to my original post, I got the oil change done at the dealer last Thu..ended up using Mobil1 5W-30 synthetic. Also managed to find the BOSCH spark plug for my particular model ( finding parts for LANCER is a PIA!!). After visiting 3 diff Cdn tires, finally the Cdn tire Auto centre in Markham had a newer copy of Spark plug finder guide. In that it only listed upto Lancer 03. So i called up Markham Mitsubishi service dept. and asked if the Lancer ES 03 and Lancer 04 ES uses the same type of Spark plug. He said yes for ES, but its a diff story for OZ. So if any1 is having  a hard time finding spark plugs for Lancer ES 03 or 04, let me know and i will be glad to give yah the Bosch part number ( can't remember off hand..its for bosch platinum 2+). So probably this or next weekend i will get that work done once i head back to T.O ( stuck in St kitty).

Will keep u posted when as i make more progress lol. Thanks again to all who helped :-)

What about the pads from the Markham dealer?  How much are those?  They are probably Japanese which are usually good quality.  I have a feeling that the pads I mentioned are not avaiable for the 2.0 so your only choice might very well be from the dealer.

How do you need new pads at 25k???

I've auto-x'ed my S2000 the guy before me tracked it once and I have 45k and my pads are still half left.

well, its a used car i got and the dealer didnt replace the pads..also it had 18,000 clicks on it by previous owner ( Hertz rental) in 4 months...so go figure lol. PLus  I brake a bit hard too ( you gotta love the 401 and QEW..accelerate..brake...accelerate...brake).
You can say i am abit of an aggressive driver :S I avg usually abt 150-160 Km/hr on QEW and then there's always some ppl who will jump to the fast lane infront of yah and stay there.
